Hello,

my ps3 is not connecting to any wireless network and not even connecting to my controller!
I can use wired connections but wireless, nothing!
can you tell me what is wrong here :| (I have had enough with my ps3 lately, Overheating, YLOD,...etc.)

My PS3 Info:
60GB - launch model - black - NTSC

Controllers? You realize you have to connect them with a cable to sync them right? Other than that, I dunno.

Webbernet? Don't bother with wireless. Way too hard. Get an ethernet chord. It easier, and you'll have WAY less lag.

There's always a chance your system needs to be repaired. You could try using a wired connection for the internet, and CAT5 cables are pretty cheap.

I've also heard of wireless connections getting screwed up by other electronics in a room, so you could try isolating the system and trying again. I had an electric pencil sharpener make my consoles act wonky awhile back.

Try launching your system in safe mode or resetting it to factory defaults. I don't know if factory defaults will have you lose anything though, so look that up first. Also, if your PS3 isn't fully updated I would download 3.21 from the internet on a flash drive and then update that way. If you are out of warranty you should open up the system and replace the thermal compound too (only do if you know how to do this with a computer). I did this with mine and my fan hardly runs anymore and I have a 60 gig launch model.

I have done thermal compound replacement to fix the YLOD and it worked fine for me after disassembling my ps3... after a while, this problem suddenly occured. Could it be due to the disassembly process? maybe I forgot to attach something where it should belong? do I have to re-open my PS3 again? because my PS3 can't really detect any wireless device at all!

that is where the bluetooth adapter goes. and it has like a long black wire that goes along the psu and blueray drive and connects to the front of the ps3 where the card readers are at.

Looking at the front of the PS3 it is in the bottom left (right after you open it up) and there is a long black wire that runs between the power supply and the blu ray disc drive. The wire is connected to your wireless antenna which should be screwed in in the back. The power to the part in the front left should be just to the right of it somewhere.
