yeah, i would be very pissed if i had waited as well. I'm glad i got the 60 when i did it works like a dream and has full BC. Maybe our non 40GB ps3s will be collector's items someday as their are only a limited number and they don't seem to be bringing back different SKUs

read the gamespot news stories and read their coverage of sony playstation days. Kiraz said that they are very excited about the upcoming release of MGS4 on June 12 and that they are also excited for the MGS4 /40GB ps3 bundle

My impression was that the 40GB bundle announced today was for Europe specifically considering 1) up to this point there was no announced bundle there, and 2) today's conference is technically a European conference.jt4mtb

The ps3 upgrades ps2 games' graphics (it's not a lot, and this isn't my main point). Also, some people happen to have owned a ps2 in the past (shocker, I know) and have a collection of ps2 games. Believe it or not, some of those same people would rather have a system capable of playing all their ps2 games and ps3 games, without having to have a second system plugged up. The only reason to completely forget about the ps2 (and ps1, n64, snes, genesis, dreamcast, saturn, etc.) is because all you care about is graphics.

I enjoy quite a few games on the SNES, ps1, ps2, dreamcast, etc. more than any recent generation games (includes wii, 360 (before halo3, when I sold it), ps3, PC, DS and PSP). I usually buy about one game a month, simply because that's the maximum available that I enjoy enough to purchase. I own a ton of ps2 (and other older console) games that I haven't played in a long enough time to where if I play them again, it will be like playing them for the first time. Also, as an example, Persona 3: FES just came out a few weeks ago, and other than GTAIV, it's the best game of the year, imo (if you consider the original P3 and the extra content as new).

Anyway, that was the long way of saying that just because YOU feel like BC is not necessary, I am glad there (at least used to be) is a choice, because some people, like me, really like the ps2 BC, along with the ps1. Learn to accept that everyone doesn't think the same as you. However, 90% of your posts seem to be hateful, so maybe I should just take this one with a grain of salt.

haha ya youre right. I love my ps3 tho, COD4, FIFA 08 have supplied me unlimited entertainment and Im just scratching the surface with GTA4. Although I never played a MGS on PS2 (they just never really appealed to me), im def gonna buy MGS4 launch day even if i was disappointed with MGO's gameplay.

I just get kinda irratated being on the PS3 boards hearing all the fanboys always trying to belittle other consoles, and making dumb statements (claiming the ps3 will OWNZ in 08 way before the fact/praising crappy games only because theyre exclusive/bashing good games just because theyre not on ps3).

Also, for the most part i find it boring to make positive posts :) Everybody knows COD4 and GTA4 are amazing, and any footy fanatic knows that FIFA is the new king, and PES is the jester :)

This is what i did as well but i dont need an 80gb i got a 160gb hd in my ps3 right now. I also hear BC isn;t to great.

But I mean fanboys are fanboys, let them be them .. but just because someone likes something (HAZE for example) and will defend it doesn't mean they are fanboys. I love gaming, regardless of what console it's playing from, I just prefer PS3 ..
