Some delays are good, but alot of mainly just bogus release dates given out so that we dont forget about the game, the games tend tobe no where near done by this date so a month before they delay it to a more realalistic date, this is what happened with GTA4.
If you have a little patience, delays are good for consumers. In most cases, they usually result in a better game. I doubt developers/publishers like them very much.
Whenever there is a delay for a game i want i get really bummed, but in the end its usually just a better experience. There are less bugs, shorter loading times and its just a better quality game.
I'd prefer if they just didn't give a release date until like 2 weeks before to be perfectly honest. Imagine the excitement, it will come out of the blue all "...Oh yeah and btw we're releasing GTAIV in a fortnight." then everyone will be all like; "OMFG I hope they aren't just doing this for the lulz I'm so excited!!!"
It really depends; is it really worth waiting a year for a game like Lost Planet to only find out it is worse than the original? Was it worth waiting for the PS3 version of The Orange Box? I'm all for waiting if the end product was worth the wait.
