Im getting a$499 insignia 26" HDTV from future shop, the specs are 720p / 1080i, 800:1 , and 8ms response time.
All the other models at that size are about 800-1000 dollars before taxes and theyre obviously name brand, I'm wondering what are the big differences because the big difference appears to be only the conrast ratio so I wonder why its important and especially for games on ps3 which is what I'm going to use it for.

Please don't lock the thread like the last time I just wanna know before I buy the thing.

I have a 50" 1080p sony grand wega

and a 42" 1080p insignia(just bought it saturday, only 1099)

Can't notice a difference when playing my games really, so hopefully that answers doubts about the brand

The big thing with contrast ratio is that if you play dark games a higher ratio is nice.
