Yes. It's your property, you can do whatever you wish with it. Granted doing so will void your warranty (if it's still under warranty).

why wouldnt they be ? its the same like pc case mods and car tuning .... do whatever you want with your stuff (or whatever you can can afford)

Although if you use something which alters gameplay online (making a semi automatic gun automatic, say) then your going against the ToS.

technically your not suppose to, but its not like sony will know unless u make an entire thread about it on a forum or something, wait... ah well, they still won't give a sh!t.. lol seriously i wish to hell i knew how to jail brake my ps3, omfg it'd be fun to use inf weapon codes, upgrade stats from begining, ect.. damnit i miss the ps1 an 2 days.. :cry:

I think the newer games nowadays should still have cheat codes like back in the day. They were always fun if you got bored, now it's just new DLC or no replay value of the game whatsoever.

As long as you don't pirate games and don't mind voiding the warranty, they're OK as far as I know.

Sad that someone is actually asking this question, there may be a lot of messed up stuff when it comes to "digital property", but one can still of course do whatever with their console. Now they do have the right to void your warranty and kick you off PSN
