I am thinking of starting to buy pre-owned games for my PS4, as they are cheaper. However, are they still good? Can you still play multiplayer and what is the difference between the new ones, except of course, the fact that they are second hand?

There really is no difference. I buy preowned for both xbox1 and ps4 as you can return the game if you dont like within 7 days at Gamestop. There may be some codes that you dont get for free downloads of things but aside from that you are not missing anything special.

The game per se has no problem, codes must have probably already been redeemed so you won´t get any of that unless you purchase ( in case it´s purchasable ) in some games on-line passes have a cost in other cases you just download it for free.

@venom0706: PS3/4 are both using Blu-Ray discs meaning you won't have to worry about scratches so those pre-owned games won't hurt the system as you play your games. Pre-owned games do have there benefits to gamers since they can be cheaper friendly to the consumers but remember that developers who work there asses making these games won't get that revenue money but if it's none of your concern for the gaming industry, then go right ahead and buy pre-owned games. The choice is yours to make.

MW3 made 1 billion dollars profit, so you can damn well bet it's none of my concern to make them richer, especially when the games are full of bugs and need 10gig downloads after the fact, which i can't download because the data is too expensive anyway, and even then the games don't improve fundamentally from what was released.

When developers get their act together and release a near flawless game play-wise, and get 95% of bugs fixed before release, and on top of that halve the retail price then i will buy new every time to support them, until this happens i will continue to wait 3-6 months after release and then buy second hand every time.

Developers have to realize that we can check reviews and Youtube first, so any lack of effort on their part will not be rewarded and will lose potential sales. I would not release a game until it is near perfect play-wise and has 99% of bugs gone. Viva Las Vegas for second hand games LOL. I refuse to buy new until a game proves to be truly worthy of my hard-earned cash. Until then, it seems developers are using games as a get-rich-quick scheme, but not on my ship!

There aren't online passes anymore on the PS4 (thankfully) so the only real difference between a new and used game is the plastic wrapping around the case. And the disc is going to be mint with a new game, though most people take decent enough care of discs that you shouldn't have to worry about it being too damaged to play. Occasionally there's a redeemable code for bonus content in new games that may not still be in a used copy. But sometimes those expire within a few months of release anyway. So yeah, there's not much to worry about. I buy most of my games used unless I can find a relatively cheap new copy on eBay/Amazon.
