From the moment i'd touched the Dualshock 3 Controller that came packed with my PS3 Slim i noticed it'sof lower quality compare to the first ones. It is much lighter, the plastic fells cheaper and this is not a joke, i havehad both a normalnon dualshock and one of the first dualshock 3.that's why i'm telling this. Another thing i have noticed is the face buttons, they aren't very firm like the first ones, they aremore looseand doesn't make a lot of click when they are pressed. I have try others and the same.

It seems the newest controllers are cheaply made compare to the first non dualshocks and the first batch of dualshock 3. I even remember my first non dualshock controller had more firm buttons and they make a lot of click when pressed.

Anyone here have noticed the same?

Only difference I noticed is that they don't have the jet black of the launch PS3s, but rather a matte greyish look to match the Slim's body.

yea exactly, i mean i dont know wat u talkin to about to be honest with u, but the dual shock i got when first came out, and the dual shock i got with the slim both are the same exact thing, if anythin the sixaxis are the cheapest ones, even though they worked great anyways.

Maybe some of them are different in built. What i'm talking about is the drifferences like the color Genexis said above, the ones that came with the slim are more gray like and some of the face buttons on them are more loose and doesn't make a very loud click. Is not that it isn't working, acutally it works fine.

Yea, when I played my brother's slim ps3 over the break, the controller did feel different just a little. It still built pretty well, just maybe a little bit lighter is all that I notice.

well i dont know wat to tell u man, my controller is black and doesnt look slightly grey, not even alil, its all black and its the same dual shock 3 as the one u buy separately from store. thats why im tellin u, one came with my slim and the other 2 i bought separately are all the same, they dont look different at all, either the place u bought it from put in a used controller and try to pass it as new or maybe sony did change them with their new recent ps3s, but i dont see any difference, but if u comparing it to the old sixaxis that came with the ps3s then yea the dual shock 3 is alot better compared to that

No, no it's not that the ones that fell different are old. From my experience with softer buttons and almost no click fell was like that right out of the package. I have tried other people ones and the same. Maybe they have small manufaturing differences.

I've noticed this as well. The best PS3 controllers in terms of quality were easily the Sixaxis controllers. Since the Dualshock's have released I've been through 3 of them. The lack of quality is obvious.

Don't you feel it's a little pointless to argue if one controller is an ounce lighter than the other :?I have the one that came with my PS3 Slim and it's working fine and that's all I ask for and I'd hope you saw it the same way.

I'm not sure if it makes any difference or not, but my Slim is Japanese (Lightning Edition) and my 80GB is American (MGS4 bundle) and I haven't really noticed anything different. The Slim controller seems slightly lighter, but its barely noticeable and only when compared side to side. I don't notice even the slightest difference while playing.

Someone always think a post is pointless. Anyway that's your way of thinking and as i said before i am just curious to know if other people have nothing what i said. I you haven't had and use different Dualshock 3 Controllers you shouldn't worry about posting.

completely opposite for me, i went through 3 or 4 sixaxis from the time of the ps3 launch to the release of the DS3 (which i bought 1 which broke because someone stepped on it) but my blue one has been great since i got it when they came out...

lmao the sixaxis is better than the D3, wow u must be crazy. i have 4 D3s and i only used ONE of them so far been using it for 2years about, maybe lil less and itss till in very good condition. now the sixaxis i had both of them went to crap and i take care of my stuff, so either ur a aggressive gamer or cant take good care of ur controllers, but i agree with poison too D3 are alot better. so if u F it up its ur fault

Yeah Duashock 3s are better than the Sixaxis because the extra weight and the rumble. But when pressing the face buttons in the first Sixaxis you can fell and hear more a click. That ismy experience after using various Dualshocks and a normal Sixaxis.

I take very good care of my controllers, i clean them every couple weeks.. nobody takes better care of their stuff than me.. i've never had a game break or a disc get scratched (and i have about 100 ps2 games and 300+ Dvd's and seasons), even when i was a child i never broke a gameboy or n64 controler (i still have an n64 controller that i had bought 12 years ago in perfect working order and the joystick is almsot as crisp as the day i bought it) the sixaxis just seemed really poorly made, and the sticks went on 2 of my 4 controllers, and the other one the R2 button went.. maybe i jsut have really bad luck or something...

lol, you must abuse them or something, because it's quite clear the sixaxis controller were of higher quality than the DS3. Much more durable. I still have the sixaxis that came with my 60gb from 2006. Works fine, but doesn't stay charged long. (well over 3 years of use so that's completely understandable) It's a shame the DS3 isn't as well made.

I don't really get this. It's like asking Sony "Is my controller made of recycled plastic bags or recycled plastic bottles?". It's not as if it really affects the playing experience.

I've noticed nothing about the new controllers that detract from the gaming mood. I think people are just ready to over analyze things. Both controllers are fine and feel perfectly fine imo of course!

They're exactly the same, maybe except for the color like someone else said earlier. But my controller looks black lol.. just like the six-axis only one.. just like any other that release before it. I've dropped my PS3 slim included controller at least 6 times and it still works flawlessly...
