I'm thinking of going with refurbished consoles simply because they're cheaper, and I can try and go for one with BC. Has anybody had any experience with buying refurbished consoles? Any good sites that are LEGITIMATE? I've been looking at Gamstop, but the prices seem a little high for the consoles being refurbished, but what the hell do I know?

i got a refurbished ps2 a long time ago, and it still works fine to this day. they might not come in perfect condition though. by that i mean like damage to the outside of the system of marks and things like that. ive only had one refurbished system so i can only judge it from that. i got it from gamestop when i did get it and i dont know any legit sites to recomend

The only way I would buy refurbished is if it had the same warranty as new.

Supposedly the ones from Gamestop are guaranteed to work, but they don't come with a warranty either.

My refurbished console via Sony warranty replacement has lasted longer than my initial brand new 60 gig... And runs better (less fan noise) So not all refurbs are garbage..

That was kind of my rationale. I figured if i sold my PS3 (the one that stays at home with my brother while I'm at college), whoever got it wouldn't find anything wrong with it. I figured there'd be PS3's with nothing wrong with them.

yupp avatar is right..i was in a gamstop buying a game one time and this guy was right in front of me in line.he was trading in his ps2 and some games. the GS worker just took the console and put it to the side along with the games and just ask for his ID and if he wanted cash or store credit..dident even bother to check if it was in working condition..

Actually they take the systems then test them later on.If there are any bugs, they fix them.Hence the word, refurbished.Plus i have a refurbished playstation 2 and its been working for 4 years.
