I mean really....5GB install may take some inital time to install the first time you play the game, but the payoff is big.

im upset only because it eats away my hdd space only got 20gig leftdam999
Well dude, they have the install to help w/ load times. Also if you think you'll run out of space...just upgrade your HDD. If your an avid gamer, you'll more than likely have to do it at some point.

I think it should be an option, not requirement. I have a 160 GB hdd in my PS3. So, I would do the install for every game that offered it. If it drastically cuts down load times during gameplay, I think it's a good option.
I know Ninja Gaiden Sigma has the option to install files. I did it months ago and was surprised how long it took.
I hope everyone knows that you can delete any of these game installs if more space is needed. Once you beat the game, delete the install. Problem solved.BoD_GOA_French
And what if you are going to play the game for a few months? Delete and re-install everytime you play? Please...
Depending on the game, if its reasonable then I don't mind. But if games like Hot Shot Golf 5 is needing a 5GB installation process, then thats way over the line.

Why did you bring this back up? This topic was dead awhile ago. I haven't heard anyone talking about it anymore since people have already beaten the game.
It doesn't bother me at all and I really don't understand what the big deal is. it is not like a $120 gig drive costs $200 like some other consoles. Get a bigger drive for as cheap as $60.00.
I think it is just people getting mad to just get mad abouth something that is not a major issue at all.
I'm not a tad bit upset, i have a 60 gig and 25 gigs left free. once im down to 15 gigs i'll probably start deleting game datas that i dont play anymore (like the 5 gig dmc4 or 5gig oblivion etc.). i mean if you don't play the game anymore you have absolutlly no reason to keep the game data on the ps3 wasting space. If u wanted to play the game again later on, just pop in the disc and let it reinstall. sure the wait time will be annoying for dmc but at least u know u can get rid of the disk usage space whenever you want. you don't lose anything at all when you delete a game data utility , all ur save file and network files are kept. (just don't delete those)
i havent heard much about this "big payoff.. were looking at a couple of seconds and when your waiting for an install it cancels out. now im the kinda person who never own more than 6 games a time anyway so i dont care but for those who like alot to choose from...,its embarrassing unless they start with bigger improvements for the install (if i missed the why installs are amazing sorry lol)..hip-hop-cola2
Yea but that means alot in DMC4. Because the game loads every time you move a hundred feet or so. Like in the big castle area "me and names??" But every room inside that thing loads. And if your running around back and forward. Load load load. So its major for a game like that. More HDD space? yea. Less work on the Drive? yea. Quicker loads? Yea.
