It all depends. Most people have not used much space on the drive as yet so it all depends on what you plan to do. It's 60gigs not 40

If you are not going to use the wifi or the card readers then no not really because you can just buy a bigger hard drive then 60 gigs for less then $100 like this one

The hard drive space isn't really whats worth the extra money. The built in Card Reader & the built in Wireless capabilites are definately worth it if you have a PSP or other Card Media Device, or a wireless network.

yeah and some games use the psp like the recently released Formula One Championship where you can have the F1 mirror on your PSP.. it's an "unnessecary gadget" but I think its realy cool anyway.. and oh yeah.. you need the 60gig version for this :)

It's worth it in the long run, unless your just getting it as a status symbol (?).

well, yeah it all depends, in all honesty, I think the wireless access and the card readers are sort of worth it, not so much the hard drive, given that if you wanna upgrade the hard drive, it's just an SATA 2.5in hard drive, just about any model will do, and you can get a 200GB or so for a little scratch.  Not to mention it walks you throught the hard drive replacement steps in the PS3 manual.

worth it for me, i switched the 60gb HD with the 160gb in my laptop, and 20gb in my laptop definitely wouldn't do.
