Are the God of War origins games worth getting?

I beat God of War 1 years ago, I'm on the very last portion of God of War 2, and have God of War 3 for my PS3 sitting and waiting. I never owned a PSP so i never got to play the origins games, but they just released them as an HD collection for the PS3. My question is, are these two games worth playing or is it just kinda more of the same? Will I be able to understand the story of God of War 3 without having played those games? thanks

I'd say yes but I must warn you they are shorter than the main trilogy games but still worth a playthrough.
