I want to buy a 80gb PS3.

Has anyone spotted the new one out in store yet?

I haven't seen it, but you can preorder from Amazon.

what is it about the 80gb that most appeals to you over the less expensive 60gb?

From what I've read though, companies who sell them online are already filling orders now. The official release day from Sony was Aug 12th though. It's a good deal if you really want to play Motorstorm. Otherwise, I'd wait and see if Sony drops the price of the 80GB down to $499.

Really the 60 gig version here in the US is a much better value with the soon to be gone EE chip. Besides for just a little more from the price differance you can replace the 60 gig HDD with a 200 gig HDD (the directions are in the owners manual that comes with the PS3). Also there is several web sites that gives step by step instructions as well. The nice thing is you can get the HDD from any source you want (doesn't have to be a Sony HDD unlike the other system).

Yeah, Circuitcity has them. Not every store has them though.
