I passed on Metal Gear Solid 4 because i herd about the cutscene-gameplay ratio, but i really do like stealth games and a good story and i am considering the HD collection.
So do the other Metal Gear games besides number 4 have more move-length cutscenes than gameplay?

They have a lot of cut-scene but not as much as the fourth did, the only way to really play MGS4 is to play the first MGS then the sequels to get really hyped up by its epic scale, that way the fourth game will blow your mind. The series does have a lot of cut-scene though and some of them are awkward or plain weird (read extremely Japanese), its love or hate.

They have a lot of cutscenes, but its split evenly between gameplay and you can always skip. Oftentimes some of the cutscenes are just expose discussing history unrelated to the plot, so you can safely skip those if it bothers you and still get the full story (though it helps to watch).

They are fantastic games, and you can skip cutscenes if its an issue.

There's no doubt that there are some lengthy cutscenes, but no. They are games through and through. You can always skip the cutscenes.
