Are there Too many FPS? (Poll)

I think there are to many First Person Shooters not only on the PS3 but on every console

I would love to see more RPG's(seeing that we only have like 4 RPG's on the PS3)

I know FF13 and FFvs13 is coming out but thats really it (plus The Agency but thats a MMO so i dont really count it)

So im askin who thinks there are to many FPS and develpors need to make other genres

YES.

We need more TPS and action games.

You can do more with TPS then FPS.

And action games are always good... Unless they are bad...

PS2 had loads of RPG

and i want PS3 to do the same

There are to many crappy FPS

RPG's would be nice, but I don't know how or why FPS games have taken over 3rd person games... So many games out now that could be very good 3rd person games are FPS ones which I think is dumb

Yes there are way to many FPS games especially for the 360.... Yes 3/4 of them are not good but when u do get that 1 good 1 its like a dream come true. And about making more RPGs its a yes and no for me because i dont want the market flooded with them and them end up being like FPS and 3/4 sucking(i am more of a RPG gamer than a FPS gamer myself)

I've always liked FPS's BUT I really like almost EVERY Genre out there as Well and really think most others are being WAY underREpresented lately.

SO yes I would like to see a slight decline of FPS and more of Fighting, Adventure, Platforming, RPG, RTS games>>>>>

Oh and as much as I love my wii I REALLY would like to see alot less Mini-Micro Game Games come out and MORE HardCore>>>

But I guess thats what my PS3 and 360 are for but No More Heroes is really fun.

I was thinking the same, there are too many shooters out there now and they're dominating the market at the moment, so I don't see a slow down just yet. Look at the best rated games of 2007 on all platforms; Call of Duty 4, Bioshock, Halo 3, Crysis, Mass Effect... money is obviously to be made there.

I just hope with the release of FFXIII, MGS4, Tomb Raider Underworld and RE5 we'll see a host of decent action/adventure games alongside them as well as a good selection of RPGs. I miss them :(

YES, YES, and YES!!!! There are WAY TOO MANY FPS games out right now. Out of all the games coming out this year, I've only made plans to get four of them and they are:

Devil May Cry 4 (single player, hack 'n slash, action)

Soul Calibur IV (two player, fighting, online enabled I think)

Midnight Club: Los Angeles (racing, online enabled I think, andI would hope for 4-player splitscreen, but probably just two player)

White Night Chronicles (single player, RPG assuming from the avavilable trailers of the game)

I tried to pick games that offer me variety (That's why I only planned on getting just four). Because it seems like the majority of games that keep coming out are shooters. The only shooters I have are Warhawk and UT3, I don't plan to get another shooter for a while, because it really isn't my 'cup of tea.' I honestly favor the fighting, racing (like F-Zero GX or Midnight Club), action, and RPG titles. Developers really need to ease up with the shooters, because not everyone wants to a game in which one of the main concepts is being able to aim shoot each time you play it. I know I don't.

There are indeed quite a few out there, especially the previous 2007 year. Might as well call it shooters year. :)

There should be less of them this time around but still quite a few will arrive.

I like FPS so you can never have enough but like p4ddym just said above me, they need to stop making BAD FPS titles. Turok, Conflict, Blacksite, K&L, Timeshift all came out within a few months of each other and all should be avoided. Why? because you can pick up games like CoD4, UT3, The Orange box, even Resistance.

So short answer is No...long answer is YES but less BAD ones.

Alot of FPS is ok its just we need more different genres like RPG, action/adventure etc.

The FPS that I'm buying for sure are:

Killzone 2

Bioshock

Resistance 2

the other FPS i might try in demos

and yes to many FPS this year

Yes there are a lot, but thats what people enjoy playin for the most part. It is what sells, there is no way to deny that either..

But I dont complain, over 90 percent of my collection is fps...The more the better
