Batman is fantastic.
I can't comment on Splatterhouse.
Yes, Batman is a fantastic game, I recommend you pick it up ASAP, it should be pretty cheap by now, and you could probably pick up the GOTY edition with some extra content. I haven't played Splatterhouse, but it looks like it could be at least somewhat good, so if you can find it for cheap or just really want it go ahead and pick it up too.Thank You Guys. Is there a difference in between Batman: Arkham City and Arkham Asylum? If there is, Which one is better?Legend-ColeYes! Arkham City is a sequel to Arkham Asylum. Play Arkham Asylum first and then Arkham City second. They're both fantastic games so get them both :)
Arkham Asylum and especially Arkham City are some of the best video games available period. Definitely play them.
I can definitely recommend both Batman games, excellent titles.
You should also try Uncharted series and God of War series. ;)
Batman is only good if you like Batman I guess.
But if you don't like Batman, you'll see the game for what it really is. A mediocre, clunky, repetitive game.
Having Batman is what saved Arkham Asylum/City. So if you like the comics or movies, I'm sure you'll find the game entertaining enough because both games have very impressive visuals and cutscenes.
(And I can't comment on Splatterhouse because I haven't played it yet.)
I didn't care for batman as I found it to be overly repititive and I am not a huge batman fan.
Left 4 Dead is fun with friends; I play it every night with a group of friends. If you plan to play by yourself; it will probably get boring.
Splatterhouse looks like it could be messy fun, I'd look up some youtube videos to see if its something you'd be into.
Opposed to most people I also rather enjoy resident evil 4, 5, and 6 if you are looking for a good zombie fix.
Prototype is a pretty fun game, but that also can get very repititive.
I wouldn't recommend inFamous; the overall expierence of the game just gives me a bad taste in my mouth.
Gears of War series is on xbox with the exception of the first one which is on PC. (I presume you own a PS3) If not, these games also can be very repitivie
purely my opinion; so it take it with a grain of salt
for sure Arkham games are awesome
checked Splatterhouse on a site I trust, it got 7.5 and says the main problems are the checkpoints can be very far from each other and the AI of enemies can be extremely stupid or too smart
You can check Dead Island and Transformers fall of cybertron
Games I would recommend right now:
1) Sleeping Dogs
2) Darksiders 1 & 2
3) Batman Arkham Asylum & City
4) Red Dead Redemption & Undead Nightmare
5) FEAR 2 & 3. (good FPS with bits of scares)

You don't have to like batman to love the Arkham games. You just have to like incredibly smooth, polished, and clever gameplay together with excellent exploration and puzzles. The combat is simple and as smooth as it gets, but is incredibly deep if you want to reach the really high scores and the stealth is original and very well designed. You have so many options available to you when taking out foes silently.
It's basically the cream of the crop as far as action adventures go this gen. It does so many different gameplay mechanics and does each of them better than most games that focus on fewer.
Splatterhouse is a clunkier version of a Darksiders (though it doesn't even compare to that).
It's fun for a rent but nothing more than that.
Both Batman games are superb.
Should also try Assassin's Creed series (if you like inFamous and Prototype for the open world aspect)
Resistance series, Killzone series (all these collections are coming out so you can really save money.

I really don't understand this.
When I played Arkham Asylum and Arkham Asylum, the combat felt clunky, underdeveloped and repetitive.
It's my honest opinion that people give the Arkham games more praise than they deserve because of the fact that they're Batman games. Batman's popularity has risen so much over the past few years.

That doesn't sound right. The combat is actually called Free Flow combat because of how seemless and smooth it is. Variety comes from the many different enemies that have to be taken out in specific ways and the many gadgets you can work into your combo. This is what it should look like

I felt the same about the combat at first, but it grew on me after awhile. Once I got used to the combat it felt completely natural and smooth.
Both Batman games are spectacular you should definetely buy them. Splatterhouse is an average action game but it's a total gorefest, so if you like these kind of games you should rent it (not recommended for buying)
Batman: Arkham Asylum is a fantastic masterpiece with incredible writing, characters and gameplay. 9.5/10
Splatterhouse is just gory fun, but don't expect anything special. 7/10
