You can over-hype something, but I don't think you can over-rate a game. It all comes down to preference in the end. But imho, if there's a million or so people saying the same thing, chances are... it's true. So in this case, I don't think Uncharted's praise is undeserved. I don't own any of the Uncharted games, I recently bought Red Dead Redemption/Bioshock/MGS series, so I got a little something to keep me busy until I get around to buying Uncharted games. I will probably wait until U3 is 40-50 bucks.
True. And being "considered overrated" is an oxymoron, I would have thought."Overrated" is a stupid buzzword thrown around by people who simply don't like something.

Some people think so. I'm NOT one of them, though... ;)
I personally think it is one of the best RPGames that i have ever playedxXSmall_DwarfXx
Yeah... Emm... The thing is... FYI, Uncharted games ARE NOT RPGs... NOT EVEN CLOSE. They're "3rd Person Action-Adventure".
Well, it depends who you ask....
I consider them not to be over-rated, but some people do consider them over rated.
its not like its impossible for something to be overrated."Overrated" is a stupid buzzword thrown around by people who simply don't like something.

It's entirely subjective. It's like saying something "sucks". There's no objective criteria by which something is good or not. It all boils down to personal opinion.
I stopped taking this thread seriously the moment you called Uncharted an RPG.

THIS ^ - How can some one not differentiate an RPG from an Action Adventure
I like the UC series, but one thing I don't understand is why the levels are so linear. I mean, its an ADVENTURE game for gods sakes. There are rarely any points in the game where you can say 'Well I can either go through Path A or Path B on this level to get to my objective. Usually the only choice(s) you have are whether or not you want to stealth past/through your enemies, or turn it into a shootout. Anyhow, I just think the game could be improved a bit if the level design was a little better.

I think you are confusing old & modern adventure games... Name 1 modern action/adventure game that isn't linear... :|
They kinda need to be that way... or else the player might do something "screwey".
That's why we have RPGs. ;)
I think the game is just an OK game (7/10) but just because you and me and few others don't regard the game so high doesn't mean that the game is overrated. You have to accept the fact that rating of the game depends on the majority of gamers so if 90% think it's a classy game then it's not overrated in this sense.
