I just recently decided to become one, and was just curious to see how many people actually signed up for it.

Definitely!
Despite the popular misconception, you won't lose all titles once your subscription is up. I've at least six decent titles obtained since becoming a member that a perma-keeps :D
No and I never will be. They never have anything on it I care about and even if they did when it expired all the free stuff is gone making it a waste of money. Also what happens to all the free stuff when PS4 is released? Unless it transfers over it will all be gone as well.
Yeah it is! All the freebies games you get are games you would never play if they weren't free, and they're not even fun....No, as far as I'm concerned it's a waste of money.

In the first 6 weeks I've got Burnout Paradise (play it a lot), Dead Nation (just started it) and Costume Quest (kids play it) for free. No, as far as I'm concerned it's a waste of money.

Most of the games ARE fun :?
But you're right I wouldn't try many of them out paying $9.99 a pop, that's why I'm glad PSN+ gives me many more options for $50, I've been pleasantly surprised by several PSN games that I might never have played otherwise.
I was thinking about becoming a member until I heard that you that games you buy with the plus membership are no longer playable when your membership expires. Can anyone confirm is that true?

No it isn't true. Some games can indeed be kept once your membership is up. You can easily check for yourself (assuming you're a member) by pressing triangle on a downloaded game, selecting 'information' and scrolling down to see when it expires. Games I've downloaded which have had no expiration included Sam and Max, Stacking, Magic the Gathering, Critter Crunch, Plants vs Zombies, Castle Crashers and Costume Quest.
That's slightly less than half of the free games I've downloaded over my year long membership but considering it only set me back $50 I'm quite pleased.
Found a link too :)

let me rephrase that, most games that do not have a demo expire
Prior to being a Playstation Plus member I typically bought 2 to 3 games from the store a month. Now that I am the Playstation Plus saves me some money. I currently have over 100 PSN games.
Yes I am. I've subscribed a few months ago when they were offering 3 free months. Biggest deals I've had (IMO) so far are RE4 50% off, Dead Nation free, Plants vs Zombies free, Braid 75% off, RE free, RE2 free, RE3 free, Cubixx HD 30% off, Back to the future free and some deals on DLC like GT5's.
But I'm still not entirely convinced it's for everyone. I like to try many different things, so I'm enjoying it, but if you're not into trying dozens of "small" games and getting DLCs, it's not worth it.
That is the big question. I'd like to think Sony wouldn't screw us over, but only time will tell. For me though, being able to back up my copy protected saves makes it completely worth it....Also what happens to all the free stuff when PS4 is released? Unless it transfers over it will all be gone as well.

It depends what you mean when you say "buy". The games that you actually buy from the PSN with a PS+ discount are yours to keep forever. But (most of) the games you get for "free" with your membership do expire when your PS+ membership expires. If you renew your PS+ membership they work again, though.
Because I buy a lot of PSN games, PS+ with all of its discounts has been well worth it for me. Plus I really like the cloud saving ability so I can sync my saves between consoles with no problems.
I am! Playstation Plus is awesome, I got it when it was first lauched, the Freebies at that time really made it worth it. I will never let plus go, mostly because of the ability to backup Save files to cloud, never want to lose my Vanquish save file, works with Locked Saves!I might consider joining to backup saves, we'll see.

Any game, or content, that you pay for in addition to the cost of the PS+ subscription is yours to keep as long you as you have a PSN account. Any game that is "free" will expire when your PS+ expires. Add-ons, themes, avatars, and other DLC is yours to keep. I've been a PS+ member since it launched, and I've gotten so much more than my money's worth out of it. The best part is that I've been enjoying games that I wouldn't have bothered with had they not been PS+ freebies.I like the auto-save sync to the cloud option (150 MB available, of which I've never filled), as well as the freebies.
Here's this month's offerings:

I was for a couple of months, will be again when I pick up a couple PSN cards during the 2 for 30 sale here in Canada.
