So now that you have a PS3, are you buying Blu-ray movies? I just bought the Watchmen although I haven't seen it in the theaters, I heard from many people that it was good, only one person I know who didn't like it. I only have 9 Blu-ray movies. Mostly only new ones. I'm not planning to replace every dvd I have with Blu-ray yet. Right now I'll pay 25-32$ I usually can't find them any cheaper.

Yes, I have bought a few. I usually try to buy the combo packs just in case I go to a friends house and they don't have blu-ray or if i ever decide to get rid of my ps3 (lol joke) But I usually try to buy them off Amazon because they're super cheap there. But yeah, I agree I'm not about to replace all of my DVDs. Especially since I only have a 24inch 1080p tv at the moment and I have so many dvds!

I never buy DVDs unless that's the only way to get the film, which is only the case for anime. Even then BR is increasing in popularity.

im constantly on the look out for some cheap blu rays. i own over 30 and have 3 trilogies as well. ive only paid full price for maybe 2 of them. best buy and wal mart are always having sales. i also go to moviestop alot and buy used. i dont even bother going to the theatre anymore. it looks and sounds better in my living room.

oh and tc, watchmen looked better on my tv than it did in the thatre. so dont feel like youre missing much. plus the directors cut left a lot of the good stuff in that was missing in the theatre.

In the process of transferring over all of my favorite movies to blu-ray, I already have about 80 and I no longer buy any new releases on DVD.I own about 700 DVDs. Only thing that I still buy on DVD if I find a good deal in TV show seasons.

I have never paid more the $20 and I actually got Braveheart, Gladiator and transformers free with the $10 rebates.

Avatar is stupid. I did not waste my money on it ...

I have owned a PS3 since day 1 and have NEVER bought a Blu-Ray until 2 weeks ago when Sherlock Holmes came out.
- It came with the Blu-Ray, regular DVD, and 2 digital copies for PC and smaller devices

It was $25 ... and I'm happy I bought it. I doubt I buy another Blu-Ray

I will be buying it on Blu-ray of course. $20 is nothing really when I could easily spend $50 if I actually went to go see it in the theater.

I bought a whole crap load of blu rays (and PS3 games) during amazon's black Friday deals. Some pretty good flims for like $5-$10 a pop - not budget titles at all (think Casino, Donnie Brasco, Raging Bull, Matrix, Shaun of the Dead, etc). I also bought the 10x James Bond collection for around $50 - which is a steal considering even now it is selling for $179.99. Every once in awhile amazon has a movie I want for $9.99 on blu ray, but that is about the limit for what I'll pay barring a special circumstance. Overall I probably have about 40 blu rays already and about 40 PS3 games. I was never a HUGE dvd collector even after the prices started hitting rock bottom, so I'll probably start slowing down my blu ray movie collection just in the name of space. Ended up with about 100 "essential" DVD's and that's probably where I'll end up on the blu ray front. Particularly if there is a reliable "digital" ownership of HD movies. I'm not sure I'm ready to trust PSN to always be there if i want to buy and keep a movie library for the next 10 years.

Yup I buy Blu-Ray movies but I only buy a movie on Blu-Ray when I think it will look better on it, some things don't need to be on Blu-Ray put some need to like The Lord of the Rings: The Extended Editions

It depends.....sometimes I will get a movie on blu-ray...sometimes I'll go with the standard dvd because I like turning them into MP4's so I can store them on the PS3's HDD.

I've got about 200 Blu-rays, so, yeah, I buy and watch a lot of Blu-rays.

This assumption people have that Blu-ray is so much more expensive than DVD is simply incorrect (speaking for the US, at least).

If you pay attention and know when and where to shop, you'll pay close to DVD prices for brand new Blu-rays, sometimes you'll pay the same, and, if you're a really savy shopper, you can even pay less than the cost of a DVD. I'm talking new releases, mind you.

If I ever pay more for Blu-ray, it's literally a couple of dollars, which, when considering how good the movies look and sound, as well as the durability of Blu-ray Discs, the couple extra bucks (if even) is more than worth it. Not to mention that Blu-rays usually come with a DVD or digital copy, adding to the value.

Since I started buying Blu-rays I don't buy DVDs anymore. I only have about 14 movies and 2 TV series since I rarely buy movies, but I'm getting 4 more this weekend (Avatar obviously, The Blind Side, and both Toy Story movies :P) so my collection is slowly building up.

I've been buying blu-ray movies since I got my PS3 since launch. I buy most of them through Amazon since the prices there are the cheapest I've seen anywhere besides Walmart. Occasionally, Walmart will sell some blu-ray movies a $1 or $2 cheaper than Amazon. I haven't replaced my DVD collection with blu-ray yet but it is slowly being integrated whenever I find a great deal on said movie. I have upwards of 40 to 50 blu-ray movies now, give or take.

I bought a lot of BD movies; mostly action adventure or 3d animation. I buy DVD forcomedy and2d animation because it doesn't make much different on BD.

yeah dude you might as well stop halfassin and just go blu ray all out! most BRs have BD/DVD/Digital Copy combo packs, jsut go for those. thats what i always get, that way if someone wants to borrow it, or if i wanna take it out th ehouse, im usually taking or giving away the dvd version. Amazon always has some sweet deals, you should buy from there if youre worried about price...plus free shipping for orders over 20 bucks!

I only own one, personally I'd rather buy DVDs and watch them on my laptop because I don't really watch many movies to begin with and I'd rather be playing a game when my PS3 is on.

I rent Blu-rays alot. I never buy movies, because I really don't watch the same movie over and over. And if people come over, it's not reallyfun watching a movie if someone in the room has already seen it.
