It looks decent, but It looks no where near as good as the videos they showed a year ago.accord100
The videos shown a year ago? As in the trailer shown at E3 '07?...I hope you are mistaken, and meant to say the CG trailer from 2005.
The current videos we have from a few days ago surpass the 2005 CG footage in many areas: It's more realistic, the lighting is better, better animations, gun design is about 100x better, more immersion with the camera shaking. It's not as good in terms of explosions, facial expressions (although I like the more realistic characters now), most textures (the ground is actually MUCH better than the CG).
Overall, I enjoy what we have now. The lighting alone makes the game superior, and I also like the more realistic look over the somewhat cartoony style of characters in the CG. Also, one thing that made the CG footage look so great was the location. It had an entire city in the surrounding area. The videos shown of the recent gameplay footage is not from the same location/level, so we can't directly compare the two (the 2007 footage is nowhere close to what it is now). I think, if by the time the game is realeased, they are able to make all the textures with polygons (like they did with the ground), rather than 2D bitmaps, there will be nothing to nitpick about in terms of graphics.
As for the mention of Crysis. KZ2 doesn't really match up to Crysis in a technical manner, other than lighting. However, it has far better animations, more action taking place at all times, and the lighting (while technically about even) is far better used. I can't say it about any other console game, but I am more impressed by KZ2 than I am by Crysis (my opinion, don't care if anyone thinks I'm stupid for saying it, and I also didn't say KZ2 looks better).
