yeah im going to goodwill right after i get a new psp 3000...............................
but seriously NO. I just got my slim this spring. It works just fine and the minor improvements from the 2000 to 3000 series is not worth spending the extra $170.
I had a phat PSP which bricked due to a botched firmware update just a few days after the warranty ran out (sod's law!) so I went and bought myself a new slim one. I think the only thing that stopped me selling my large games collection was the fact that I was quite attracted by the prospect of connecting my PSP to the TV (and it is cool).
Then I got fixed on the idea of repairing my phat PSP, so I eventually came onto the idea of getting a battery tool and fixing it myself. I needed the new PSP to get the files onto the memory stick anyway. That means that I now have two PSPs, one slim for normal gaming and one phat with custom firmware for homebrew (the latter wasn't intentional, rather a by-product of me fixing my own PSP as it would have cost bucketloads of money to get it repaired by a specialist.
As far as the the 3000 is concerned - fingers off. It's certainly not worth trading in your old PSP for, especially since there are likely to be very few games that will actually use the microphone, and the screen probably won't be worth the shout. After all, with people having old PSPs, developers won't take the risk of cutting out large segments of a market).
I'm still deciding, depends on a lot of things:
how improved the screen is?, can I really play outside with sunlight?, If I can get the money to buy it, if it is made with better materials than the slim, among other things
Nope! I love my "old" psp, and I'm planning to buy the 300. I wont trade in my old one, I just alwasys think its better to save up for things istead of constantly trading and bartering...Anyway, once i get my new 3000 set up, I'll be letting my dad use my old psp, because I bought the midway arcade classics game, and he loves it.
erm no i love my slim psp and dont care for 2 new thingsgho5ty
The screen and the Mic are NOT the only new things. Don't people read anything anymore?
Anti-piracy measures, processor upgrade, screen, and mic. There are also a few other minor things as well.
I WILL be upgrading from my blue Slim PSP. Thanks.
There's not much any difference between the PSP Slim and the 3000. Let's see what the 3000's got.
New enhanced LCD Screen: This is pretty good for outdoors. Not that good for me, I barely play outside because I feel the PSP will get dirty which I hate. (I always want my handhelds to be crisp clean)
Built-in Mic: Meh. I never use Skype or talk to friends on SOCOM or any other online games. Pretty good for some people.
Replacement "Home" Button: I don't really get the point of this :?
Non-Hackable (Rumors): Now, this is sweet :). A non-hackable PSP would be just what we need. It will help developers make more games for PSP. But I always have a deep feeling hackers will always have a another way.
That pretty much sums it all up. I don't see myself getting a 3000. I just got my Slim last July and I love it. Pretty good for people looking to buy a PSP or there are geeks that want to stay up to par.
