No for me. I still play PS1 once in a while and PS2 a lot and could still deal with the graphics.
I just played Bully again a while ago and the graphics seems still nice. :)

Nope. From me, the graphics are really only something I notice for the first five minutes anyways. After that I get so immersed in the gameplay that it wouldn't matter if the game had pong graphics.ThePlothole
^ Same
I still play all the FF games and other classics (RE / SH / PE etc.) with out any problems. The Smoother graphics framerate settings on the BC models (or atleast on the 60GB) work like a champ!. You can really see a difference when you switch the settings off and on...plus the Full Wide Screen setting makes it all the more marrier. I love it
Graphics don't really bother me either, after the first few minutes. I think it's because I become immersed in the gameplay and I played all my PS1 games when they first came out (when the graphics were considered cutting edge) and enjoyed them for what they were.
I do still think sometimes... 'How did I think that looked good?' when playing old games. For instance I played MGS1 after MGS4 and Snake's head looks like a cube in MGS1, even though it was considered pretty decent graphics at time of release.
Yeah, I have a hard time playing FF7, FFX, but surprisingly most areas in FFXII still hold up pretty well. Also, Kingdom Hearts looks like crap (though I'v just seen it, never played it, but you don't have to play a game to judge their graphics.)MGSFan92
wtf?! FFX still looks amazing to me. I mean simple awesome :| I promise you. Im currently playing it as we speak, Im just about to Zanarkand, but this "Sanctuary Keeper" is a pain in the a**!!! Damn creature keeps healing himself over and over, but I poison him, use all my Aeons, get his health down to 2k, but he constantly keeps healing himself back to 40k.
Anyways, haha it's beautiful on my 42" which just about fits perfect!

Lol, I have a 42 inch too, it's just the environments that look bland, but the characters and effects look great. This gen has spoiled me with it's fantastic environments, with games such as Heavenly Sword, Assassin's Creed, even FFXIII!!!
It unsettles me when I see a PS1 game where the textures appear to jiggle or be floating on nothing (probably textures applied over a surface with an extremely low poly count). Jaggies are also an issue to varying degrees (when the text is jaggy then it often becomes a problem).Articuno76
Havn't been playing any PS1 games for a long while but played through SOTC again the other week and that stood up pretty well(if not better than that)to some of the dodgy textures I've seen on weaker PS3 and 360 games-I mean Blacksite was full of graphical disgraces an it' is not alone. The last PS2 R&C looks pretty good as well(I've just popped it in to see).
But, whatever, I'm certain I could happily play through the first MG on PS one and after five minutes forget the graphics. I love a great looking game (SOTC being a case in point being crafted right when Team Ico knew just how to otimise the effects of the console-you could say the same of Clover with Okami)but it's the icing on the cake to me, as long as they are convincing enough to get on with the game.Who cares that much? You want pictures and just pictures go see an exhibition. I know framerates and upscaling, anti aliasing and all that stuff is important and with greater realism games do benefit-it just isn't the be all and end all. For instance I liked the looks of MP3:Corruption as much as anygame recently because of the artstyle but I couldn't argue it was as accomplished as R&CTOD or whatever.
Horses for courses then and great graphics are just the cherry on the gameplay icing for most of our next gen cakes.

I agree. FFX is one of my favorite graphics until now. It's even better than some current gen graphics. :)
Not really only if a game sucks gameplay wise FF 7 ,8 and 9 still look great thanks to pre rendered backgrounds! I played Silent Hill one a couple weeks ago the first minutes the graphics made me cringe but after a while you don't seem to notice it that much anymore. PS2 isn't all that ugly I mean remember when we all thought WOW at our first sight of MGS2 just imagine that day again and it will look fokking awesome ahhaah :P
no what keep me hooked in a game is not graphics it is gameplay and storylinekainesdroden
Exactly, well said.
I don't play games for graphics either, but there comes a point when the jaggies can be distracting.
I tried to play GT3 and I couldn't believe how jaggy it was. Like someone mentioned, when I bought GT3 for my PS2, at the time it was the best graphically on the PS2, imo. I remember showing it off to my friends. It still is good, it's just not made to be played in HD.

I have 47 ps2 games so I really cant imagine my self just stopping...and graphics dont bother me much either...in fact I have some ps2 games that look better then games I have on my ps3..and even if they look less good then my ps3 games...I dont really care...as long as the graphics are not completly unberable I can play any game..
I'm not playing PS1 games for the graphics, that's for sure. I play them because they're fun games.

if you guys are saying this than blu ray graphics were a waste and wii and xbox will just say who cares about graphics your still selling ps2 games sony well i guess us ps3 games cant brag about blu rayChaosBlader1
Graphics have nothing to do with quality games.
I have 49 PS3 games and 16 PSN games, so it's not a lack of PS3 games, or Blu-ray being a waste that makes me play older games. I play them because they're awesome, and they don't stop being awesome because a new system is out.
Sorry, but what you're saying is absolutely completely and totally absurd.
