Im surtanly ain't going to. Might pop FF12 in or MGS3, but thats about it.
Im not going to start playing my old PS2 launch games again just cause I have a new machine to play them on.
I've played Summoner and tekken tag to death, i wouldn't care at all if they didn't work on the PS3.

I, for one, did not spend $600 on a next generation gaming console to play games that are 2-5 years old. And if for some reason I wanted to, that's what my PS2 is for.

Ironically the only PS2 game I've wanted to play is Guitar Hero 1&2 and those don't even work with the PS3 regardless of the way it's emulated.

Say you traded that in because your PS3 supposedly played them?

Given I still PLay on my NES, I most certainly will be playing PS2 games. God of War 2 for example will likely be picked up by a fair few PS3 owners.

Not necessarilly, but in any case, that wasn't the question.

Its games that don't conform to Sony's standards that will cause most problems, which means a game released in 2007 could be more difficult to make work than one released in 2001.

Thats why I bought a next-gen console is because I want to experience next-gen games! Also back then when people had PS2 did anybody really played Playstation games on the PS2? No one!

One of the reasons I choose PS3 over 360 was the fact that it was nearly 100% BC. I never had a PS2 and have been able to enjoy tons of PS2 games and a few PS1 games:
Ico
Shadow of the Colossus
Resident Evil 3
Metal Gear Solid Subsistence
Final Fantasy XII
God of War

And next gen games like Resistance and Virtua Fighter 5

I am sure there are others like me who might not have gotten a PS3 early because of a lack of BC.

Don't be soft of course they did. Plenty of people played PS1 games on the PS2 and for you to say that no one did is pretty silly.

The only reason I stopped playing PS1 games on my PS2 is because it stopped reading CD's. Which is why I have an emulator to play them on my PC. Remember, Final Fantasy XII has only just been released, and God of War 2 will only see the light of day in May. Plus Manhunt 2 is coming, meaning there are some pretty compelling reasons to buy PS2 games.

If there is a PS2 game that I own, then it was worth playing through more than once. I have a collection of 45 PS1 titles that I still play, and 20+ (and growing) PS2 titles that I still play and more PS2 titles I will buy.
