I just bought Shadow of the Colossus (PS2) and I'm trying to play it on my PS3 (60GB), and the sound went in and out and now there's no sound whatsoever. Also a white light flashes on the screen about every 5-7 seconds. Has anyone had this problem/ know how to fix it?
I should add that there has been no problems with playing PS3 games.

The game works fine in my PS3. Umm, is this an American or European model 60GB? I ask because the latter do not have the Emotion Engine (just like the 80GBs), which means they can have compatibility issues not present with the former.

I'd say it's gotta be a problem with the game itself. I played through the whole game on my 60 gig with absolutely no such problems.

Its the American 60 GB. And when I googled the problem I got this ...http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstation/board/message?board.id=ps3&message.id=927030.
Looks like using composite cables can help, but I would rather just use my HDMI? Mainly because I don't even know where my composite cables are.

I played through the whole game using my 60GB hooked up via HDMI and had no issues... maybe your TV doesn't like it or something. Let me ask you this. Are you using the PS3's upscaling at all or are you playing the game in its standard 480i/p. I ask cuz I found some HDTVs I've tried don't like 480i over HDMI.

And do you have your sound coming through the HDMI as well, and would it be coming out of your TV or is the sound supposed to come out of a sound system?

Just try adjusting your upscaling settings.
