Asian Playstation 3 QUESTION URGENT REPLY NEEDED !!

I have an asian playstation 3 and i got a US resistance and i get to know that i can only play ASIAN resistance bluray ONLINE on the ps3.

I wanted to ask if this requirement is in other games as well? Like if i get US version of motorstorm and any other US game to play online, would i be able to play those online on an asian playstation 3. I have only confirmed this about resistance.

 i have a US PSN account but im unable to play online. Did you connect your ps3 to the net using a router or direct connection. Im connected online through direct connection from the modem.
