So a new AC has been announced. Will you give it another try? I hated AC part 1 simply becuase it was lineair and boring! But some of the games mechanics where pretty cool and I must admit the first 2 hours of gameplay where fun. So will you give this game another chance when it releases?

My main problem with it was that it wasn't really story driven.... or to put it in another way the story wasn't interesting enough to keep me going then when the repeating parts of the game came I was going nuts after w hile you're doing the same thing OVER and OVER and OVER again! I wonder how they're going to change this becuase the scale of the world could've been cool for some rpg elements. With side quests new weapons and armor together with the stealth mechanics would make something really unique in my oppinion.

Tell me about it, I really couldn't get myself to finish it even though I loved the graphics and the setting of the game the gameplay was FAR to dull.

Amazing game with some very BASIC flaws ..

I can't see how the developers can't turn into it something very special ?

A touch of Hitman there ... A touch of Oblivion there .... sorted

First AC still acceptable for my taste. I have patience for repetitive stuff so I'll give it a try and i prefer human vs human game rather than human vs demon

the game in it self was fine, the story was good and the enviroments beautiful.....but the repetitive gameplay and the fact that we didn't get anything for killing the templars and collecting all the flags, that sucked... especially since altair had a crossbow in the opening-cinematic that could look like a bonus treat...

No because the sequels are not usually not as good as the originals.

Since the only type of game that comes out anymore is a FPS, I think I found it hard to see one of the rare original games as repetitive.

I don't think the gameplay mechanics will change dramatically at all in Assassins Creed 2. To be honest, I really enjoyed original game, the only flaw that I found was the approach to your targets. If they had different options to track down information to each assassination, the game would had become one of the best on the market.

The reason why the game felt repetitive, boring or straightforward is because of approach to target information.

The world is big, explorable, pretty open and free to move on in any direction in cities which are very much alive. Very few things needs to be adjusted for AC2, and if they do it well, the core Assassins Creed gameplay will be fantastic.

AC was great.

The story was miles ahead of any other title this gen (except for MGS4) and the gameplay and graphics were truly next gen. Of course, it had a bit of repetitiveness and some strange/bad design choices, but hell, most of these recent games are just empty shells, flash and zero substance, at least AC tried to "say something".

What trully bothered me about the game though, was the complete lack of professional direction in the story scenes (bad animations, bad camera angles, bad use of post processing effects etc) and the amateurish and sometimes downright retarded "outside animus" dialogue and context development.

If they fix those issues in part 2 and keep the story interesting, hell, i'm all for it :)

Of course. I had no complaints apart from repetitive gameplay and lack of replay value. If they can fix those issues, then I'm practically sold.

If they can show me that they reworked the gameplay and made a huge improvement in enemy AI, I might give it a chance. I liked the free running and the idea of assassinating people, but the whole sci-fi angle was a letdown and the collecting information didn't really get you anything you couldn't figure out on your own.

how does selling 7 million copies show the developers they did something wrong. To play this one i would need side missions that are entertaining like oblivion...instead of cheap ways to increase the length of the main storyline.

If they add more stealth elements in it like in Metal Gear and make it less like a superhero game(jumping from one building to another) I might consider buying it. I want real weapons, modern ones like the Mk22 "Hush Puppy Tranquilizer" gun.I wanted to get the 1st one but so many bad reviews from the players kept me away from the game. I hope it won't be repetitive as the first one.

I liked the first half of AC. The second half was when I started noticing all the problems. The combat system works well when the game only throws 2-3 guys at you but the second half of the game throws like 7-8 guys at you.(sometimes more) I don't think the combat system was designed to handle that many guys at once. That is when everything goes down hill. Like I said, I liked the first half of the game and the second half was just repetitive and annoying. So to answer your question, I'm going to pass on AC2. I can't stand that jade raymond girl.

I really liked the first one, but it did get repetitive at the end, but the story was good enough to keep me going and I enjoyed wat it offer. I am sure they have recived enough feedback to make the second one amazing, so I will def. look it up. BTW it was anounced it will take place in france during the revolution, which is VERY badass. Eifel Tower FTW.

Yeah, I will. I actually quite enjoyed Assassin's Creed's gameplay as repetitive as it was. I didn't mind it at all. I'm fairly curious to see what direction they're taking the games.

I'm also quite curious about I Am Alive. But that's a completely different matter.

I forced myself to finish it

If the second one had more different missions then I'll give it a second chance

Uhm, hell yeah I'm getting AC2.

I loved Assassin's Creed, and before anyone jumps down my throat for not thinking it was repetetive, it was.

But when you have a game that does repetetiveness, it's typically because it's in a "genre."

Yeah, amazing ****ing concept, right?

Call of Duty is repetetive as hell, but people loved it.

What the hell were you people expecting, a .50 cal half way through the game for an added element of stealth?

Please.

What do you guys want to see in AC2 gameplay wise?

I say keep the climbing mechanics like they where one of the only things done truly well in AC. Combine this with a better combat system not completely based on watching the same sequences over and over again, together with some oblivion rpg elements wich are very possible in such a large scale world. A simple but fun LVL up system and collecting new weapons and armor. A story that is more guided and get rid of the the whole gather information thing or at least sculped it into something fun!

Wtf are you talking about, you cant compare AC repetetivenes to Call of Duty. Call of Duty is a shooter, in a shooter the gameplay is based around shooting you cant even really call it repetetive. AC had you doing the same information gather ' mini games ' OVER AND OVER. Its a stealth game MGS and splinter cell where not repetetive... so why couldn't AC come up with a decent structure for an exciting non lineair game

It did. You can go about doing different tasks in different orders and in different ways. It's called "freedom." When people get too much of it, they don't know what to do with it. What more do you want? He's running around with a small blade and sword. It's not like Altair's got an extensive arsenal of weaponry. Stealth tactics of Splinter Cell and MGS can't be used in a game like this because it's an open world environment; it just wouldn't work. MGS and Splinter Cell, rather than give the player a bunch of options, limit them and force the player to come up with stuff on their own and that's how people have so much fun with these games. But when a developer gives the player too much freedom, more often than not the player gets bored because they only end up taking one or two routes. It's a problem that only few developers were able to overcome. And you CAN call a shooter repetitive. You shoot, reload and shoot some more. If that isn't repetitiveness, I don't know what is.

Totally agree with you. Assassins Creed was repetitive when it didn't have to be. It felt as though the guys who worked on the game spent more time perving on Jade Raymond then they did pooling ideas.

So a new AC has been announced. Will you give it another try? I hated AC part 1 simply becuase it was lineair and boring! But some of the games mechanics where pretty cool and I must admit the first 2 hours of gameplay where fun. So will you give this game another chance when it releases?bryankei

No because the sequels are not usually not as good as the originals.

You know nothing, Resistance 2, Motorstorm 2 and many others I'm not going to mention cause your not worth me making my typing fingers ache.
