I am currently split between these 2 games. Before I was dead set on getting Black Ops 2 first and getting AC 3 later for Hannuckah, but my friend brought AC3 over to my house earlier today and I had an amazing time with it.

I didn't play much mind you, only the first couple of hours, but I love the historical setting and I love the new engine the game is running on, the graphics looked beatiful on my HD TV.

But then I look at Black Ops 2 again, an epic campaign, some sand box gameplay, open world zombies, and addictive multiplayer. I'm torn, what do you recommend?

Something tells me I will be getting both of these games. My oldest daughter already told me she wants Black Ops 2 for Christmas and I think when I tell my youngest daughter about AC3, she will want that for Christmas.

If you aren't seriously invested in the multiplayer aspect of Black Ops II, if you're mainly interested in a solo experience, then you should probably go with Assassin's Creed III. I'm sure the Black Ops II single-player campaign will still be decent - though, probably not 'epic' - and you can probably squeeze some fun out of playing Combat Training and Zombies mode by yourself, but the meat of that game's fun, in my opinion, is going to be found in playing with friends. If that's not the driving force behind your excitement for the title, then you may be sorely disappointed with it. Though, to be fair, I'm not in any big rush to buy/play either of those games. So, I really don't have a strong opinion on either. I'm sure I'll buy them both, eventually, but probably not until this time next year when there's a chance of catching them on sale for $20 each.

I want both, actually. But like you have read alredy. If you care about the multiplayer experience also, go for Black Ops 2. If you want a solo experience and you love AC then is easy the choice.
