Hi. I just finished my Assassin Creed. But I didn't understand the story. What's the connection between the present and the past?? And who really is Desmond? And why the mafia or gangster (I don't know what it calls. A gang with tuxedo on it) want him?? And the last, after Desmond got his eagle vision, what's the meaning with the pictures behind his bed??

I really confused... Maybe you guys can help...

The story's ending isnt that great. I'll try my best to explain.

The connection is that Desmond is a descendant of Altair, and I think he used to be an Assassin himself. I think the guys in the tuxedos are Templars, not sure though. They want him because they want to find where that "apple" thing is hidden. I think the pictures behind his bed are from past test subjects, since desmond isnt the first.

hope that cleared some stuff up!:)

Templars are the guys that kidnapped Desmond. They are trying to find artifacts using a memory recall which are the events you play through in the game. In Desmonds case it is the apple. All of the artifacts have divine powers and the Templars want to take over the world with them. The people who break in and try to rescue Desmond are the assassins who have fought against the templars this whole time in trying to stop them from achieving world domination.

They assume that there is such thing as an accumulative memory that is proposed by Karl Jung a psychoanalytic psychologist. The theory suggests that all of our past ancestor's memories are stored within our subconscious. The machine Desmond uses extracts the subconscious memories and plays it out like a movie or in this case video game. They use the memory to locate the spot of the artifact that Desmond had once come into contact with. The reason why at the end of the story Desmond has Eagle vision is explained by the bleeding effect, where abilities our ancestors were once able of, bleed into our conscious when they are extracted. This serves as a cliff hanger because it allows Desmond to use the abilities of the Assassin ancestor.

I don't rmbr it exactly so correct me if I'm wrong...
