Assassin's Creed Games

I started playing the first one a couple years ago and felt like I was just climbing shit all the time and got bored, am I missing out on a great series?  Does the first one suck and the rest are good?  Am I just crazy and the first one was great?

2 is a pretty decent game. Never played any other.

I know what you mean TC, some games feel like that to me. I have only played the 3rd one though, but I loved it. I would say get that one and definitely Black Flag coming out later. Not sure about 1 or 2.

The first AC game is one of the most underrated games of the generation. It was an amazing game for what it was supposed to accomplish.

My favourite one has to be AC2. Brotherhood and revelations were ok. AC3 felt like a chore to get through.

Maybe play 2, forget the rest. Incredibly overrated series. 

I played AC1 for a few hours and got bored. Picked up AC2 a few years later and never looked back, finishing up AC3 now and can say its a series I would definitely recommend.

My top AC is Brotherhood but 2 is definitely worth giving a go.  I never got through 3 but watched the second half online and it wasn't that interesting.  The new one looks pretty cool from what they've shown.  It seems they're going all out with the pirate theme and they didn't rush it out to convienantly come out around a pirates of the caribbean movie so at least they've taken proper time to make the game rather than cash in on another franchise.  It seems like the game world's gonna be pretty big in the new one.

However, if you're going in it for the story then you'll likely not be very happy, as the story really isn't that good.

Why does AC 3 get so much hate though?? It seems like a cool enviroment to play in.

 Number 2 is definetly worth it Brotherhood ain't bad either but after that the others are forgetable.
