The Good

1. It has a great designed, HUGE map with 3D objects on every building (doors, windows, roofs, etc.) in the whole map.

2. Graphics and sound is nearly perfect considering the game is multiplatform.

3. Story is great and interesting to follow.

4. The cities are additionally to being big, also great choices with great local population who reacts to interestingly many things.

5. At least I, like a lot to run around on the rooftops and finding new villages (i really haven't explored that much before).

The Bad

1. The missions are short and have pretty little reason to them (you investigate only for one assassination every time.

2. The merchant stores in the game aren't useful (you can't buy weapons for fighting, food for health, etc.).

3. Only level upgrade you get is after an assassination. You'll get three standard objects additional to tackle and such. Not enough.

4. You play as a guy who manages to get cut and fall all the time, but if you get near the water, you drown.

5. The fighting is too weird because you do all the same things all the time.

The sequel

There will probably be a sequel because of the weird ending of the game. I believe that the sequel will be set in Japan because of the signs on the wall at the end of the game. And therefore you'll probably be able to play as a samurai/ninja. Samurai for the fighting, ninja for the stealth. Mix'em up, you get a Japanese assassin.

Improvements for the sequel?

1. Level upgrades - when you're on level one in weapons and abilities you get get to choke people from behind, pick up rocks for throwing?, a long wooden stick for fighting (i'm being serious!). Level two could probably be able to use a string to choke (quicker method maybe), ninja stars (don't know what they're called) and a short knife for fighting. Level three would probably not be the last but considering how far i thought about this, the short blade would still be the most effective using less time, a long sword.

2. Online play - There could be a game where you or you're team are set up to arrive a place the fastest, or assassinate an amount of people first. Also there could be a game where you kill a person of the other team, causing him to get captured until one of his allies comes to save him in the enemies territory. Time limited.

3. Day & Night - Stealth would be cooler at night i believe, and although i don't dislike the day that is constant in AC, i'd like to see more of the moon too.

4. Trade - I think it would increase gameplay if you'd be able to get (pickpocket) money from people or things to trade for the new weapons for every level (not necessary?).

Also

Please come with interesting comments, if nothing positive, just don't write it. And i though about the concept of Desmond in the modern world, but that would be like Mirror's Edge in third-person. Kinda.

Post contains spoilers

I like your ideas. I disagree with the level thingy. It made sense because your master was the one that could RESTORE your rank.As for buying weapons and health, well....buying health doesn't make much sense because you are in the ANIMUS and your health is merely synchronization, the more you get hit, the memory gets more unstable. Buying weapons would go again your master's will and would probably get you killed. BUT in AC 2, since you killed your master and you probably will go by yourself in whatever you will do, so buying weapons would make sense because there's no one to give them to you.

As for night...that would be cool. I noticed that it would had a whole new level of gameplay to the game, like infiltration and sneaking.
Your online ideas could work if they did it correctly.

One of the possibilities is that you will do stuff in the present too, so we might be able to use guns and other modern weapons. But that would be pretty dangerous if they screw it up, so I think it would be safer that Assassins in the present still use and act by the old commands.

My ideas are : You need to do all the investigations possible (6 in AC). Why? it's simple. Some of the investigations you do, don't give you enough info on the target, and when you get to the bureau you say stuff you didn't heard from the investigation.
And alternative to this is 3 pre-determined and mandatory investigations, that will give you, location, weakness and a possible route. After doing those mandatory investigations you can do the alternative ones if you want. These will give you more info on the target, more routes and more weaknesses. That way you would have a more consistent investigation.

More places to hide, like...I don't know...trees! Hiding in the middle of the crowd could work too.

Plus! Clothes changing. You would be able to buy them from stores or steal them from the people or guards. This would add yet another level of gameplay, like infiltration and new ways to escape the guards! And these would mean smarter AI. After spotting you it won't be that easy to escape with your assassins clothes. You hide and change clothes so you can pass by the GUARDS THAT SPOTTED YOU!

More weapon combos, choking would be nice like TC said.

In other words, AC2 can be a killer games....if they do it correctly.

I still have the XBOX 360 version, which I have literally barely played...I'm sure its a good game, but I think the hype at the time of release brought it down a notch or two.. I will probably play it through over my Christmas Break from college...

To rogerjak The mission thing, so true. You always have one entrance and the map of enemy position or escape routes don't help. There's only one way to get in and only one to get out. That is why i think they didn't manage to make AC an entire stealth game. For the modern playing you suggested, i'd love it. And of course i've thought of it. But i think they should've made the game a PS3 exclusive for it to fit in the Animus part and the real world part perfectly. If the next AC was to be multi again, it would be like this one. I've been playing the game for two days straight now since i picked it up, and i finally realize how detailed it really is. Every time i pass a village, i stop to check it all out. The buildings tents. Possible hidden flags or templars.

Not necessarily and I hope not. They have their ways to make it fit in a DVD.

I just hope Ubi doesn't cheap out with AC2. The game has potential written all over.

Yeah, now they should get better, or they'll loose many of their previous buyers. The story, design, setting and everything is something unlike any other game ever seen. Really hope it'll carry out well.

i agree and disagree with some of the things u said and the biggest thing i disagree with is ONLINE PLAY not EVERY game needs online play and AC is one of those games that should never have online serisouly why does every game need online nowadays sheesh

Also about the setting of the game i believe it will be in mayan times because apolcalypse written all over the wall of ur bedroom and the date of 12 12 2012 is when the mayan calander ended and legend goes that will be the end of the world so i believe it will be the mayan times and we will learn things about why this will be the end of the world and a little bit more about the templars

Combat to be a little more challenging, investigations a less repetitive and better voice acting. I hated Altairs American amidst of all the accurate accents.

True, but i guess it was to make it seem more like you're still playing under Desmonds conscience rather than Altairs. Additionally to all the above, i'd like for them to add to choose between languages. For example that everybody will speak arabic, turkish, german, french, etc. Like they did with Uncharted.

Why is everyones suggestion to make a game better always online play? No online play would not make this game better, I thought returning weapons and gaining abilities was nice for a level up process but obviously they can't do that again, unless they use the the guy from the future(forgot his name) rediscovering his latent abilities. Having missions take place at different times of the day wouldn't be too bad, but the problem I belive is being able to see since the only light you would have is moonlight if still in the same time period. Trading and buying stuff would throw off the atmosphere as Assassins don't tend to go clothes shopping before a mission. I think they only really need to add more fight animations even though there was plenty in the first game, and vary up the investigation missions some.

There was always more than one way out, sometimes one way required you to go through people, but it was a way out none the less. It was like Metal Gear Solid 4, you can choose to go a specific route for stealth or you could go guns blazing.

He uses a skirt, man... and of course he refuses to give money to all those women, when he could do it and ask for a lil "something" from them ;)

To sepewrath There aren't always several entrances and exits. When you kill the slave guy, you first have to go through his soldiers and run him down through the whole city. Then everybody chases you. And although it might be fun fighting those guys following you the first times, but after a long run, it won't be as amusing.

Combat, open-city, crowd reactions, freedom to go anywhere should all stay, just with minor improvements. The swimming problem I imagine was to keep the game fluid with staying in the city and not tempting to go off swimming and get alerted without anyway to attack... Missions can stay repetitive, but they need to reveal more and carry greater rewards for completing them. There should be a big difference in doing 9 missions opposed to 3. Also, completing a few missions shouldn't give you enough clues to your targets, which also shouldn't be given a giant symbol to pin-point there location. Hints/ recon should give you a general area of that person that you find yourself, with more hints giving you a "hot" zone opposed to "warm" zone. Character levels aren't necessary, since the game would become a "sandbox" instead of "free-fun." But they should change the weapon system. You should only carry a few tools at all times (dagger, throwing knives) while better weapons can being stolen or robbed off deceased bodies. Traps would be interesting, so long as they don't slow down the gameplay. Lastly, alliances should be utilized into a system with different missions affecting the relationship within that city and also other cities. Say you kill a "Robin Hood" in a city, which would resolve in a negative relationship among the poor (less places to hide). But at the same time, result in a positive relationship among the rich (crowds would move out of your way). Also, maybe his brother was general of another town and this affects your relationship there with the soldiers or military-class (harder to sneak past the gaurds). Just some thoughts...

What about instead of only "save citizen" you can "Kill thief"! And do some side assassinations for the people? And having the option to give money to the beggars! That way the will annoy you less.

HAHAH, hope they'll put the beggars and maniacs away for the sequel. Couldn't stand the maniacs pushing me, while the beggars would either get in front of me or throw rocks at me while i was hanging on the wall. About the idea, maybe i'd like half of those side missions to be saving citizens, and the other half to kill thieves. Didn't really annoy me with all the saving, but killing thieves would give more action to side missions at least.

With the beggars I used to pull out my sword and they would run away screaming. Crazy people....stealth kill, the hell with synchronization.

One of the things that I liked was to help the other assassin's.They should have more of those.

More side missions is a must.

French Revolution so I have heard. So that means it will be set between 1789 and 1799. This time frame opens a lot of doors. It's the French Revolution after all, when Democracy was 1st implemented in Europe.

This means no more Altair. Now it's someone in his bloodline 600 years later.

SPOILERS ALERT

Also, Was I the only one that noticed this? the female doctor that controls the Animus (Forgot the name), she is supposed to be an undercover Assassin to save you. In a cutscene the camera CLEARLY focus her  finger missing("trademark" of the assassins) BUT when you are in game if you look at her hands, you see all of her fingers :o What gives!?

Or not. I just hope they don't refrain themselves because they want to be able to fit the game in a DVD9. I wouldn't mind having 2 or 3 DVDs to be able to play the game.

I don't mind the game being multiplap, it's such an awesome game that everybody should be able to play it.

Yeah, but people didn't even like installing mgs4 for every part they got through, imagine how they'd hate it if they were to change discs all the time?
