seriously, its not that expensive...im a student and i have a part time job and i can easily afford...i knooww its not the point but the price is becoming a bitover used
$250 for the PSP Go does sound expensive (launch PSP was the same price), given that older PSPs are cheaper now (and arguably better than the Go). But at what price will have you consider buying a Go? $200? $150? $150 sounds okay to me, considering that games will be download only so it can be hard to find a good deal. This offsets Go's cost.PerfectEnding
I'd buy it at €200 or at full price if there was a UMD conversion program that I could use to change my 40 + games to digital format
Not sure if there is a price for me. I have a lot of UMDs and I am positive the cost of the downloadable games (older games) will be more expensive than their UMD counterpart. They'll probably sell Chains of Olympus for $30 or $20 (if we're lucky) when you can get it much cheaperin UMD. In the end, you'll be paying a LOT more when downloading.
No price will be low enough to get me into a Go. It would take receiving it as a gift honestly. raven_squad
I'd have to agree but only because I have a psp already. If I didn't I'd probably wait till it got to $100 or wait for the psp 2. I think the psp cycle only has 4 years left? correct me if I'm wrong.

Technically the PSP's time could be up whenever sony decides to move on, as long as they continue to support it with games, they aren't breaking their 10 year policy. Oh, and that pretty much what I meant. I have a Vader 2000, so buying a Go would just be silly for me.weeyy :) someone who has a realistic view on pricing :)200-250. 250 (since im getting it on release)
Any cheaper is very unrealistic. How much is the 8gb Touch? 200? How bout the 16gb? 300?
250 is just about in the middle...200 would be a NICE Pricepoint, but 250 is more realistic.SRTtoZ
$200.00 would be a good price for me to buy the PSP GO. Only because I had the 1000 and 2000 series PSP already So I can wait a bit. Remember this is Sony's experiment to see if a download only gaming system will catch on. If it does Playstation 4 will be a download only console.

See thats why im justifing my purchase of the GO. A $250 dollar GAMING handheld that also does video and music with a 16gb hd is good if you want to have a gaming machine with music/video functionality. Now if you dont play any hardcore games but like casual games then the itouch/iphone is for you. You cant play a hardcore game on a touch screen.
I think the psp go is perfect for the casual consumer who wants to play the occasional rpg or hardcore game. While the 3000 is more for the hardcore gamer or those who want the tangible copy of their game

i actually have an iphone 3gs...and loads of people call it a gaming device...and its being marketed as a gaming device...but the games are all tiny, ok for 5 mins here and there but theres no substance... gimmie final fantasy etc any day :) psp go is just a superior piece of hardware...something im willing to pay forApple is one of the most notoriously overpriced electronics companies in existence... I wouldn't use them as a reference point. The PSP architecture has been around for 5 years, they've thrown in 16 Gigs of flash memory, and wrapped it in a cheap slider with a smaller screen and tossed out the UMD drive with no significant improvement to battery life. Not a $250 worthy investment as far as I can tell.200-250. 250 (since im getting it on release)

You ask what I am willing to pay. Not what is fair. It's value to me as a novelty rests at $150... at most. It didn't have to be this way. Only Sony could mess a device up THIS badly. Removing the UMD drive should have resulted in no moving parts and an increase in battery life. Of course, the new form factor makes this unfeasible and I understand this. But unlike my slim, I can't swap batteries, extending it's playtime. Again. I understand this is due to their piracy concerns. They also have made it impossible to bargain hunt for games. This is the nature of downloadable content and I understand. The games I already purchased must be REPURCHASED rather than acquired via trade in. I understand the logistics of getting those production companies to allow for this and how unfeasible it is. I understand. But I can't get myself to care. I look forward to it's failure and the subsequent price drops. Plural.[QUOTE="lewisg1212"] they make quality products though...you get what you pay for

Same here. Happy with my 3000 and the ability to play UMDs.
Edited: I just hate psp go's lack of exchangeable battery, smaller screen, button designs, and the lack of cases/manuals. If they still sell the download vouchers in stores with an actual case/manuals that's suppose to come with the game, I would consider buying one
I won't because it lacks a UMD drive. Downloadable media is a waste of money to me because you have no "tangible" copy. You cannot sell, trade, or otherwise make money off of a game you no longer enjoy. On top of that you pay extra for the novelty of having it be downloadable. I love the design of the system to the point whereI would be out there getting one if it had a UMD drive. Thepotentialfor profitthat Sony can get makes me really happy but it won't be out of my pocket. I'm happy with my new PS3 Slim, and my PSP 3000 model.
So why not buy a 16GB pro duo for $60?$200 for sure, $250 relulctantly. Its the memory that I really need.
Zidaneski
Ill take it as a gift......and prolly sell it on ebay to some idiot. Way too many UMDs to waste my money on a downgraded psp...if anything ill buy a psp3000. LOL This system is gonna fail so bad...I Love SONY, but this is a no-brainer. They need to consider the opinions of their customers...We want a second thumbstick, more memory, better graphics, and of course UMDS!!!! Not a smaller screen, only downloadable content, no transferrable umds, and a price to the roof lol. HMMM psp.....ps3.....Ill go with the ps3 and if i have a ps3 and 250 bux...I think ill get something else... PSP Go For the loss...Sorry SONY. I am still a fan, but this is ridiculous.

the current PSP is also HUGE. Which is why I got rid of my Zune for a 2nd gen 16gb Ipod touch. I had no problem paying for that. The Compactness of the system is one of the biggest selling points TO ME. I travel for work often and do you have any idea how sweet it is to take a small system with NO games needed on the plane? I have a 16gb card too so It will have 32mb...I will use this as my MP3 player, video game machine and move machine on all major trips...I'm sorry, but th PSP Go is for me. Its not for you obviously so stay away man! Sony isnt forcing you to buy it...wait a few months and I'm sure they'll announce a PSP 4000 for YOU that might be worth the upgrade! I dont care if apple inflates their prices, their products are actually quite decent. Ive been buying SONY since I was very young and I will continue to support them if their product meets my demands...I love my 50" Bravia LCD and my PS3 as well.
Please, this system isnt for everyone, but dont act as if YOU KNOW Best, Mom.
Oh btw, how else can I get 32gb on the regular PSP 2000-3000? I'm pretty sure if you can FIND them, a 32gb Pro duo card is about 150-200 bucks. I can get 32gb on my Go no issues. I got my 16gb M2 for a stealll price.

I don't buy the "PSP IS HUGE" bit. It's isn't. But whatever floats your boat. Your right, you can't easily get 32 GB of storage capacity on the original. If you intend to make the Go your go to guy for every thing, I guess it could be appropriate. I personally wouldn't give up my MP3 player for the PSP's shoddy MP3 functions.
I also never said that Apple didn't make good products, but they cost far more then they are worth technically speaking. If you don't mind being gouged for a brand name, be my guest.
In the end, just because your willing to accept the ridiculously glaring flaws that Sony has made with the PSP Go because it fits better in your pocket doesn't mean I have to. They bit the big one on the Go. I'm not forcing anyone to look at my opinion as anything more then just that. But I will voice my opinion just as you have voiced yours, son.
I would pay 250, but I would prefer 200.
The main problem I have is the fact I have already 23 UMD games with about 10 more current UMD games I plan on getting. The idea of having all of my games together right there on my PSP in a pocketmakes me want to get a PSP. I honestly can't see why my current UMD's can't make its way onto a PSP Go 16 GB storage device. I'm sure that there is a way for Sony to make a simple device that can read a UMD and burn it onto the PSP Go. Worried about mutiple burnings of a single UMD Sony, simple solution. When you download the UMD onto your Go, the UMD can be locked so that way you can still play it, but it is lockked onto your PSN account so that way it can be only burned onto your account alone. Sony made a device to transfer your PS2 saves onto your PS3 HDD when the PS3 launched, why can't they make something like that for UMD's. If someone can burn CD's onto their PC HDD and then onto their ipod or other mp3 player, what legal issues prevent that. I would honestly be willing to pay $20 for a device like that.
I haven't made a judgement on the control sceme because I haven't held it yet. I plan on doing so come Thursday providing there isa Kiosk at my local Best Buy.
If they dropped the price to $199, I'd consider getting one. If they wanted to get serious about competing with Nintendo, they'd price it on par with the DSi.

Because if I subtract the $60 from a go its around $190, So its a question of whether or not a go aside from memory is worth $190. In those terms it is more tempting lol.
