This happens to me so often it is mind numbing. When you are playing team deathmatch, and the score is dangerously close, and the game is about to end or the max score is about to be reached, if your kill/death ratio is anything lower than 1.0, GO HIDE IN A CORNER FOR GOD'S SAKE.

I cannot tell you how many times this has happened to me. The score is 700-700 or something close like that, and all these stupid noobs who have like 5 kills and 13 deaths continue to go charging out into the open to feed the other team kills. Here is a piece of advice: if the game is close, and your kill/death ratio is something horrendous like 0.5 or even lower, GO SIT IN A CORNER. HIDE.Why would you think you are going to save the game at the last minute when you've been doing horrible the whole time?

If you find yourself in a very close match, stop and look at your score for a second. If you have twice as many deaths as you do kills, you need to do your team a favor and either leave or go hide somwhere. Thank you

Here's a piece of my advice: It's only a game. Get over yourself and welcome yourself back to reality. Because, yeah, "Nothing is a greater representation of your character like a K/D ratio". I would suggest you get a breath of fresh air and a hobby if it bothers you this much.

This is quite lame honestly. Why would you tell someone how to play after all, they paid for the game just like you. Everyone likes winning but winning is not everything.

So what happens if they keep it up and your team loses? Does someone come and repo your car? Evict you from your dwelling? Fire you from your job? No? So in other words, you just lose some game on an online service, and some stupid number next to or underneath your name may go down a little bit.

Wow, end of the world, for sure. :|

I commend your efforts TC, I hate doing well then some moron rushes to his death repeatedly. Sure score is not everything, but some people should stick to free-for-all because they seriously hamper the team experience. This happens all the time, a few games with 3 kills and 22 deaths would make me never ever play the game again, but some people just don't mind being horrible and dragging down their team. It's just simple consideration to at least put forth some effort to not guarantee your otherwise good team a loss.

Maybe not. But I think it might deserve some "credit" for the fact he didn't just dig his hole deeper. Usually, people that post this kind of crap pop a blood vessel and fly off the handle for no reason. But, with this response. Chances are, he probably knows we're right:P

Not to stop playing the game, but slowing your tempo can be really beneficial. I watch some of my friends play and they respawn throw all their nades then they sprint to a blind corner and die. Over and Over and Over etc... It's not that they should just quit playing, but sprinting to where you just died is stupid and often results in death. Everyone started as a noob, but anyone who is any good knows how to take advice. What's so bad about laying low for the last 5 kills if you are playing so horribly? If you pay attention there's no harm if at least trying to help your team win.

Thank you sir, for understanding.

And to everyone else who pretty much said "Stop whining it's just a game", can I not come to Gamespot to express my frustration?

Is it not legitimate good advice to suggest that a person with 4 kills and 20 deaths hang back at the end of a very close game?

Yes I understand it is just a video game, but it is still COMPETITION nonetheless. I play team death match to win. I do not play to lose or to just go and screw around. I am not an intensely competitive person, but I do not enjoy losing, especially when that loss is the direct result of horrible players who cannot chill for 15 seconds at the end of a close match. Is that so wrong?

That's always been my main argument when I see people dictate others on how they should play or how good they should be. The 70-80$ I pay for a game give me the right to do whatever the hell I want with my game.

I understand that people have bad games now and then. But when I know I'm not doing well, I try not to ruin it for the rest of my team. And K/D ratio means a lot? How can you say it is meaningless? It is a number which DIRECTLY correlates to how many points you're contributing to your team and the opposing team. How is that number meaningless?

What a simple-minded response. I'm not saying it's the end of the world. I'm not throwing a fit here. I'm just saying, no matter how small, there is still an element of competition to online matches and people need to recognize when they're doing a horrible disservice to their team and adjust their strategy.

You don't win anything:roll: It's just for fun. Once you realize that, life becomes easier.

As for your "I don't enjoy losing" comment. Then don't play. Everybody loses at everything and it's how you learn. If you can't handle it, then you shouldn't be around it. Simple as that. I've also heard (and seen) a lot about this "horrible players" claim. That's just a common case of "everybody sucks but you" and "you alone can never lose. It's always someone else's fault"

The only thing you should be angry about are team killers. If you lose, you lose. Who cares? Life goes on. It's not like it's anything "real".

Wow buddy. I'm not trying to be anyone's COD4 coach or take over their life, I'm just pointing out a simple fact. If you are overwhelmingly contributing to the other team's score, you need to think about slowing it down and adjust your strategy. You are seriously misinterpreting the point of this thread, mister high and mighty. I can handle losing. It happens. I never said ANYTHING to the effect of 'everyone sucks but me'. I acknwoledged that I have bad games. I also mentioned, importantly, that when I have bad games I try to slow my pace down so as to not contribute to the loss.

Is it really a crime to suggest that people with an extremely low score adjust their strategy if the game is close? I don't think so.

The noobs are on the defensive, it's a little scarier here because at least they will try to win the debate, unlike the matches. :P

But seriously is it really out of line to ask for a bit of consideration in a TEAM game? I know when I am playing horribly I lay back for a sec so I'm not the one who causes the team to lose. When one plays a competitive multiplayer game winning should at least be a little important, why play something just to lose and not even try to improve? That is pathetic for lack of a better word. Even the greatest players are not above taking advice.

Most certainly!

Let's be logical: nobody pays a game 70$ for the sole purpose of ruining other gamers' fun. What I say is when you buy a game, not only do you have the right to play it the way you want (whether competitive players like it or not) with your own, lonewolf strategies, you also have the right to suck at the game.

Because the noobs you're talking about are not automatically douche bags bent on ruining your gaming sessions, you know? So what should players who aren't that good do not to infuriate competitive players? Sell their game?

I agree with the TC. I have no life so i must take this game serious(lololol). It really infuriates..err fustrates me when its a tie game and then people always tend to rush out with like 10 seconds left then my team loses. but it's all good.

I am shocked that there has been only one person on this thread to make intelligent comments. Thank you, lone smart man.

No problem, The angry mob would have not been easy to handle solo. Even though, I merely repeated you sentiment.

maybe some people just dont care and play for FUN. You hardcore players are WAY too serious. I dont care if i die 1000 time. I am going to run around and have some fun. Im sorry i am not some uber COD professional or milatary wanna-be. Make a private match and invite your hard-core buddies and leave us alone.

I don't care so much about W/L. I know winning gives more experience but still. It only bugs me when I'm just on an overall terrible team and we are getting crushed. I always love playing a close game, even if we end up losing. But does anyone ever say or hear someone say "good game" after a game? I think not, unless they are being sarcastics jerks or something. I personally always try to get more kills than deaths, but some people just like to run to the same place over and over resulting in them getting killed, not much you can do about that.

It's not fair to tell people to not participate in the intense final moments of the last part of the game just because they may not be terribly skilled. If everyone did what you ask, it would be 3 or so on 6, and the "noobs" would have their experience with the game harmed.

Thank you

I understand your pain, but you could have went about it a different way. This makes you sound like a douche. True it can be frustrating for this tgo happen in any game, but dude at the end of the day you have to realize it is just a game and they paid for it just like you. If you have a problem then mayne you should party up with people you don't mind playing with... that is what I do.

I don't play to win the match. I play to see how I compare with the other players in that match. If you are complaining about the noobs maybe you should perform better to make up for them...
