I'm planning on picking up a cable today so I can play God of War and other games off my TV and I was wondering on somethings.

I read that AV Cables can only output Videos and Music, not games, is that true?

Also what are the differences between AV and Component?

Thanks!

I assume that you are talking about RCA jacks. The only thing different from component and RCA is the way they send the signal, component obviously sends each component seperately, RGBYC. RCA just throws them all together.

If you have a slim PSP then you can throw whatever you want on the tv just as long as you use the right lead. PSP fat wont let you put it on the tv

To play on your television you need the Component Cables and a T.V. that has Progressive Scan.

Is it HD? If it is, then it does for sure. How do you have your PS3 hooked up to the TV?

I just hooked mine up using components. It looks great, but there is a delay in the video signal since my TV only outputs in 1080p. I was trying to play patapon and was completely off-rythym the whole time. My wife looked at me like I didn't know what I was doing. Good times.

I hooked up my PS3 using the regular cables that came with it on my SD TV. I run at 480p I believe~

The "regular cables", are composite cables (yellow/white/red), and only do 480i.

If that's the only input your tv has, then you can't play games on your tv. Your tv needs to have a component input (five cables: green/blue/red/white/red) and be able to accept a progressive scan signal. So it needs to be 480p or higher.
