we can finally change background colors like the psp, theres a pretty cool theme called air paint, new perspective on the icons, info bar at the top good feature, new xmb icon, playstation network, using the x, o, triangle and square on the circle design, posted a few weeks ago. all in all, very nice update!
agree! i am in COMPLETEL and utter shock how amazing remote play is now. you can use any wifi connection in the WORLD, turn on your ps3, turn it off, send messages, watch vidoes, listen to music, check the ps store, all on your psp anywhere in the world.!
^i agree with everything you jsut said. i can wait for in game xmb, its not THAT important. this update made up for it. ughh i would pay for a killzone 2 theme. seriously.
while playing CoD4 some guy said home was cmoing out in a couple days ( i was thinking he is crazy) because it was going to come out right after 2.00 (then i come here and see 2.00 is out)
This update seems really geared towards PSP. People who complain probably don't have one. As for me? It's awesome. I can not waste space on my PSP that I'm getting on the weekend, and stream it from my PS3. Just gotta get my schools wireless access and BAM.
I'm bringing my PS3 to work tomorrow to get the update and the Uncharted demo. I am stoked. I hope it's a good update some themes would be cool but I thinkthat mightbe asking too much. Maybe next week?
yah, it only comes with one theme. its a reallly cool concept, but the backgrounds are kinda feminine, rainbows, flowers, i was like wtf lol. the icons are awesome though. and to the other poster, im doing the same thing tomorrow, im hoooking onto my schools wireless during class! :D

n on another note.... this 2.0 firmware update is absolutely worthless pretty much. its almost entirely a cosmetic upgrade. how frickin gay i havea psp n have no need for this remote play... i have a frickin mp4 player for all my music n videos so streaming them from my ps3 to my psp means nothing, especially when it only works in wireless hotspots. its not like ima go to starbucks or mcdonalds just to watch a video on my psp. and.... i couldnt care less about a playlist when i cant play that playlist in a game... so soo disappointed. trash is what it is! GARBAGE!
You know what I just though of? Now when people are stuck at work and the new demos hit, they can use their PSPs to start the download so when they walk in the door its done already. :)
Also, I don't know if anyone noticed this yet but you can now play videos while they are downloading. Like if the download is at 50% then you can play the first half of it while it downloads.
I tried out remote play before the update, was pretty neat being able to control the ps3 and watch previews from anywhere with wifi. Unfortunately, the update makes it where I can't use remote play until some custom firmware for 3.72 comes out, I'm not giving up the ability to play the ps1 games I own just by ripping them myself just to turn my ps3 off and on.
Am I the only one who is disappointed here? Where is the rumor and highly anticipated in-game xmb? IMO, beside the PSP remote turn on/off, everything else is not that great.

that's pretty cool. I didn't know that. i need a psp to try that out. I didn't know you could access the pstore from the psp.
The best part is being able to put demos into a demo folder, PS1 games in a PS1 folder, and PSN games into a PSN folder And there are other themes out there on the Japanese Playstation site. I'm a little disappointed in the lack of in-game xmb, plus the update itself seems more geared towards the psp which is fina and dandy, but I don't own one so it's kind of a waste. I guess all teh hype and specualtion about how awesome update 2.0 was gonna be by people on the forums, made it kinda lackluster. That's why its never good to spread hype on anything, cause almost always turns out flat. I trust Sony will make an update for in-game XMB soon, cause Many of us are dying for it already....Be we gotta be patient :)
I'm just a little confused as to why we can choose different colours under themes, but not black! IMHO the black background you get i the evening/night looks the best, it matches the colour of the system and just makes the XMB look a lot more sophisticated and smart

I haven't turned my ps3 on in months. And i was about to cuz i read about the 2.0 update, but these features im reading about are trash, so i guess i wont. so i guess this was the big 2.0 update you all been hypin about. All those months waiting, speculating, hyping...all for nothing. These features just seem like any other boring update. Well...theres always 3.0 LOL. Ah, time to go back to my good 'ol ps2 - actually fun and doesnt rip you off.
you can if the lazy developers actually programmed the feature into the game. the ps3 has that feature like xbox 1 did. If you're talking about in-game xmb then not yet...we proabably have to wait till 3.0.
Sorry but like other people I'm very disappointed by this update. whats there to get excited about?? Ooooh a new background, oooh a ticker than tells me what I can buy, Oooooh I turn on my PS3 with my PsP anywhere by leaving on my modem all day burning it out!! Sorry but what I want is to be able to check my messages without quiting a game, I want to be able to acces the XMB in game, I want to be able to be able to chat without leaving a game!! Not a few poxy images and style content items! These features aren't rocket science and should be a standard now! The PS3 has been out over a year now so where are they??
