Gettinga ps3 in two weeks, but i'm in the situation where i can only afford one game. I like shooters and racers, and i need something with good online. suggestions?
whats that supposed to mean? next gen just means the next generation. a "next gen" console just means its the next console in line, whether it has the graphics of the nes its still next gen. and on a lighter note, thanks for your input.
Resistance is a good option but its a bit washed up, the online comunity has moved on to games like The Darkness and Rainbow Six Vegas. I suggest you go with Motorstorm.
And dont bash on the guy earlier for saying "next gen"... hes just trying to help and Motorstorm is arguably the best graphics on ps3 to date so thats probably what he meant.

What I mean by "Actual Next-gen" is that the graphics are amazing, it's a new dynamic of racing games, the physics are insane, it's amazingly fun. I know Next-gen just means its for the next console in line...but resistance could be taken for a really, really, really good-looking PS2 game if someone were misinformed.
I would pass on MotorStorm. Go with Resistance or Oblivion. Both are amazing games.NothingOnMyMind
I have all three games and well it really depends on what you like. For example, I absolutley love RPGs, but i put oblivion down after the first week, its almost painful to play that game for me, but again thats just me.
Motorstorm doesn thave multiplayer and its online isnt that amazing but i get by with just its great single player, its extremely challenging.
Resistance IS a must have... so i guess i take back what i said earlier, as washed up as its online comunity is theres still alot of people coming in, especially cuz of the International merge.

vegas, oblivion, RFOM, NGS. those are your games but if y our going to get a PS3 i suggest you wait to see when the price drop will come because if could be enought to get another game and a couple good games are coming out very soon

Id prob. get Resistance. Motorstorm is great, but after you beat it..and play around 20 online races, it just gets boring.
I sttill play Resistance..and Ive had it since January. Well I dont play it a lot cuz I dont have ttime but I go on once in awhile. Plus the single-player is great too.
resistance is a great shooter and its also really fun online and motorstorm is the funnest thing and its really sweet online, so id suggest one of the 2

a price drop for PS3 IS COMING by the the holidays. they WILL announce it at E3 so i'm saying wait a couple of days to see if it's substantal
since you already own r6vegas on the 360 i would say RFOM or The Darkness if you are a fan of shooters. The online community has alreayd been commented on about RFOM and you can always find a good match, the Darkness on the other hand has a fantastic single player campaign. It is full of gore, revenge, and a few features I have never seen on an FPS. You will really enjoy The Darkness. It is also the first game to have the Achievements feature that Sony is putting out for Home (i think). So if you like the entitlements on your 360 then this may be your game, however it doesnt take long to beat.

I totally agree. I just got both Rainbow 6 Vegas and The Darkness.....Both are awsome! But if you've got R6V for the other system then get The Darkness or Resistance.
