Hey - I'm not sure how many of you football fans have seen Backbreaker as not much news has so far, been released...

Though I have no doubts that all of you have at least played on a Madden game?

I was wondering if it would be likely to see these physics used in Backbreaker on a Madden game in the future.... If not the exact same physics engine used for Backbreaker, then one with similar principals?

Does anyone think it might happen? I tend to find that on the whole the animations of Madden are awesome, and its a really entertaining game, but I think it would be SWEET to see these physics in a Madden game to add an element of difference with each tackle, and increase the realism of the game?

Watching the Backbreaker trailer it seems as though, as with other Football games that they do not have the rights to the NFL, so in that respect I think people will be less inclined to buy it... Although it does look like a heck of a lot of fun, or what we've already seen anyway...

I just think it would be awesome to have really fluid, realistic physics in a game that had all the rights to the NFL teams/names...

Incase any of you haven't already checked it out, the trailer for Backbreaker can be found here:

What do you think? =]

i wouldnt be complainin if they stole the idea. The chance of it happening within possibly the next couple years increases now that it is possible. Competition is best for the customer. Kind of like how PES made Fifa make smarter players

Backbreaker uses an engine known as the Euphoria Engine 2.0. The same engine is being used in GTA IV and Indiana Jones. It's not crazy to believe that this engine will be used in sports games since the point of the engine I believe is to mimic human nerve reactions with balance being a big example of that. Whether or not Madden will ditch their current engine and pay to use the EE2.0 in future iterations, who knows.

Bump - put this up when forums had no one here...

Do you think its gonna happen? - Maybe EA will see how it works out, and how it looks in Backbreaker first, if it looks good they might try implementing it??

I guess Backbreaker will sell as many copies as possible, and then when sales stop, sell on their Euphoria engine onto EA to make more money??

What do you think?

Just found this...

"Since Backbreaker is not set to tap into Madden's competition, could this mean that NaturalMotion might attempt to one day license Euphoria to EA? "We've been talking to EA on and off, and I probably can't say too much about what we've been talking about. We like the guys at EA Tiburon, they're talented developers. Who knows what's going to happen, but right now, I can't talk about anything."

I have hope =]

Sometimes get bored with Madden's tackle animations, would really like to see this in a football game... Will just have to see how it goes with Backbreaker...
