Can you backup data using any kind of ipod?

And should i transfer all files to the computer or just leave it on the ipod? (if it has enough space)

I doubt it. The best and most effective way to back-up data is using the "backup data utility" in the "system settings" section. This requires you to have an external HDD formatted in the FAT32 file system with enough space to back up your current amount of HDD usage. I doubt an iPod would work, but I suppose you could try and see if the PS3 allows it. It would be silly though, since your iPod would pretty much be full. If you are using 40GB of your 80GB PS3, then it literally backs-up all 40GB.

Or you can just put all your useful things like game saves on a small flash drive.

I think you can use an ipod, but the backup file is huge (for me it was around 30-35 gigs) so if you use an ipod i think it would have to have that much free space at least.
