Why do you still have your PS2?

I have a slim PS2 and an 80GB Backwards compatible PS3. I really don't need the slim but I like having it and still prefer to play my PS2 and PS1 games on it. I also use it as a DVD player. I don't really need it though. I just like having it around.

Anyone else?

My PS2 is actually just sitting in my room collecting dust..

I use my 1080i PS3 for everything now lol.

I remember playing games just to play them last generation, but when I got the PS3, it just didn't feel right playing in SD on a 57" with 5.1 Surround and not using it.

So I went out and got component cables and a digital optical cable.

Best gaming decision I ever made.

Well theres this thing called "Full Screen" and "Upscaler"; you should really check it out and play your PsX and Ps2 games on it. Also works with your DvD's.

Gave my Ps2 to my lil nephew awhile back, so meh...

The reason I still have my ps2 in addition to my 80 GB PS3 is because my 5 year old son still plays it on our 36 Inch non-HD tv. My ps3 is hooked up to my 46 Inch HDTV.

PS3 backward compatibility isn't perfect, at least it isn't for the 80GB software emulation, but my PS2 still see little-to-no use. (So does my PS3 in all honesty)

Doesn't hurt to keep around an extra DVD player... all the moreso when it's also a PS2.

I have a 80gb PS3 with BC but I keep my slim PS2 to play my PS2 games. Not all PS2 games work perfect on the PS3, so I would rather play them on a system that works and not find out later it cannot load the last level or something. Not a big deal anyhow. I use my PS3 for my HDTV and my last gen on my Tube TV.

I've a 80 GB PS3 so i sold my old PS2 a while back. I rather sell it so that someone else could get some real use out of the thing, otherwise it would just be stored somewhere collecting dust. Why waste a perfectly good system that way?

I don't see the point in using my $500 machine to do the work of a $130 machine. I still use my PS2 to play its games and DVDs, and my PS3 is for Blu-Rays and new games.

I have a backwards 80 gig. I still have my old ps2...it's sitting in a box, I like to keep it for nostalgic reasons. All my ps1 and ps2 games work on my 80 gig so eh.
