Okay so I have a bad habit that when I'm playing a game with a longer story line I usually get really far into the game and then i get to a boss or something that i can not seem to beat no matter what. I get so tired of playing the same part over and over again that i edventully stop playing the game for months on end before finally forcing myself to try it again. and lots of the time i find i beat the part very easily once i pick it back up. So this summer i devoted my gaming time to beating old games i have yet to beat. Does anyone else have this same problem as me? and if so share a list of games you have still never gotten around to beating

So far this summer I have beaten:

FFXIII

Assassins Creed 2

Valkyria Chronicles

BlazBlue

Bioshock 2

and Demon's Souls

I still have to beat:

Persona 4

Dead Space (I got the glitch on the 9th chapter thats why i never beat it)

Oblivion

Fallout 3

I'd post my list of games to beat, but then I'd have to change my name and move to Antarctica out of embarrassment.

That is what I didn't get. There was one dlc chapter (forgot which one though it required doing stealth missions as opposed to the "charge!" run straight into a fight) that would pose trouble to anyone without enough sense to do the way the game is more intended to be played. But AC2 was actually a breeze.

My bad habit is purchasing new games before I am finished what I have. I let this habit continue to a point of being unable to probably ever complete my collection of games even if I weeded out the "not worth it" games that are too terrible to try to finish, dating back to PS1 titles.. Game sales in newsletters to my work e-mail never seem to make this better. My other bad habit is letting my SO play the same games I am so that I lose interest faster if I have already seen him play the same parts.

Although, even with these issues and my crazy work schedule (I work in IT and therefore I am always "at work") I have still finished 4 PS3 titles and 2 360 titles this year.

I've cleaned up "InFamous", beat "F.E.A.R." a second time, finished "IL-2 Sturmovik: Birds of Prey" on 'Realistic', beat "Tomb Raider: Legend" finally, wow...

... guess I've done more than I thought!

:P Don't worry... the last game i beat was Bayonetta :P.. and then i just recently re-beat it... I own hundreds of games and i've only probably beat about %40 of them.. Although i am probably at about 70-80 percent done most of them...

I've done all my games.. I got AC2 just 4 days ago and already on the last sequence with all the codex pages, unlocked altairs armor, gotten the biggest poches, the best weapons and nearly all the glyphs but I have hardly any of the feathers. I don't buy many games.. lol, mainly because most of the games I buy have time consuming multiplayers like mw2.

I try to beat all of my games... which isn't that difficult since i don't buy that many in the first place. However, if I ever stop playing a game prior to finishing it, it would most likely be due to boredom rather than to a game's punishing difficulty.

I honestly have beaten almost allof my games. Some quite a few times (like: mgs4, uncharted2, gow3, dmc4, dead space, heavenly sword, etc.) There are only a few I havent beaten, and I have round 40 games, give or take.

gta4 - i just dont like it and refuse to take the crappy trade in value on it.

Killzone2 - i suck at fps. im stuck on the balcony with that flying robot (i think its called an a-tak)

Bioshock - as stated above "i suck at fps" and am in no rush to get to this. its still in the shrinkwrap, has been for some time.

Spiderman: WoS - also still in the shrinkwrap, for like a year now. not sure why i dont tear into it. heard its good.

Burnout Paradise - can you beat it? just seems like alot to do.

Thats it. Every other game in my collection Ive beaten at least once.

I probably have at least 30-35 games in my backlog. I just keep buying games. It's a problem for me, but I've been better recently. Have been able to say no and bypass any purchases lately.

I used to have that same problem with my ps2 games. And almost always it was some 70% boss that was really easy compared to the next one. But on the ps3 i have completed every single game so far except the online only ones,Demon's Soul's but i'm still playing and Crash Bandicoot WARPED! (Srsly Crash is harder than Demon's Soul's :D)

i used to have this problem. Now, i just do not give up and see a game through before moving on to the the next. It also helps me if i do not actually own more than like 4 games at a time. Ive found that the more games I owned, the more likely I am to be distracted and not complete something.

Games are too easy, they have a story that's easy then a hard boss... Wheres the fun in that? Why not have a hard storyline or atleast harder and then a hard boss. I'm not saying every game should be like Demon's Souls but come on we all know most games are too easy these days.

Mostly Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 - I really liked that game, but halfway through I got addicted to racing games and never finished it. And then there's TimeShift - I got a ways into it, it was starting to get pretty fun, but then I got interested in Fallout 3 again. There are several games I played for an hour or three, like Star Wars The Force Unleashed, Bioshock, Tomb Raider Underworld, and some others. I'll get back to them some day.

Bioshock was the very first fps using dual analog controls that I owned and played, and I platinumed it (beat it on Suvivor with no vitachambers) and that was easy for me. It's a VERY different kind of fps. First of all, the emphasis is more on exploration than shooting. Second of all, if you're creatively strategic, you'll do just fine, because there are so many ways to defeat enemies without shooting them with a gun. I really strongly urge you to take it out of the shrink wrap and dive right in.

Same with me. I have about 20-30 games in my backlog. I always pick up games I am interested in and then will play them for several hours then put them down so I can finish older games. I am constantly playing 3-5 games at a time. I can never just dedicate all my time to one game because I usually just get bored and pick up a different game to play then come back to the other later. Over time I eventually beat the older games and start moving on to newer ones.

I kind of have that habit.

I have 2 games i haven't finished. Not because they are particularly bad, because i have played worse, but i am just lazy.

Darksiders: I slashed my way through like 2 thirds of the game, and stopped playing for a while, when i tried to go back to it, i just couldn't get into it. Shame as well, i loved the game.

Prototype: I know alot of people slate it, but i thought it was great. Problem was, again, 3 quarters through and i got infamous, which i got obsessed with. Went to play prototype again, and the damn controls were kicking my butt! I gave up!

No excuse really, i should finish these bloody games

Perhaps I shall. I have some time off work comin up and its hotter than camel hump outside, so ill probably be round the house. I know it is held in high-esteem and that it supposedly has a great story. If its really not all runnin and gunnin and has enough substance to combat my ADD, then I might enjoy it.

I always do that with my games, unless I'm really into it. This year, I haven't beaten that many. The games I have started playing into and haven't yet beaten are: Borderlands MW2 Campaign Skate 2 Burnout Paradise Pokemon SoulSilver Fable II Red Faction Guerilla Prototype and there are so many more that I can add to that list. It's a bad gaming habit, but I do love going back to the games I haven't beaten yet and finishing them off. I

I'm not too bad a sinner for unfinished games. Let's see, there's DMC 4; My interest waned around halfway and I'm not sitting through Capcom's lamentable 25 minute installation again in order to finish it. I was 3/4 of the way through Valkyria Chronicles then stopped, maybe I'll go back to it in preparation for VC II. I haven't touched FF XIII in 6 weeks, I'll return to it when I'm done with RDR. My progress on Demon's Souls is currently in limbo since I had to buy a new PS3 recently and the save is copy protected (*shakes fist*). I will return to that also.

Nah, I'm the perfect gamer, I complete all games I have before getting new games. However, for some reason I hardly ever finish games that I didn't personally buy myself. Friends will sometimes lend me games, I'll try it and then never play it again. Midnight: club LA, Dragon Quest VIII, Wipeout HD (from PS+) and Motorstorm (PS3 fat bundle). Only thing I managed to finish was MGS4 but I guess thats because I had recently played all the previous ones.

Yea I'm really into that whole play/finish-every-game-you-buy, it's so overrated tbh... I just like seeing them sit on my shelf, get enough satisfaction out of it that way! List of games barely/never played: * ACII (I got into it a bit and then my little hdd crashed and couldn't be bothered to start over since) *Battlefield: Bad Company (Never knew why I bought that one, guess I bought it for a nickle or so) *Dead Space (I'll get to it when I grow some balls) *Fallout 3 (Bought it around the same time as GOWIII and can't be bothered to start it since) *MGS4 (still hopelessly waiting for trophy patch >.

Ugh stupid quick reply...

The list goes on!!

Motorstorm: Pacific Rift

PoP (every time I started playing, I felt this strange urge to sleep)

NFS: Shift (took me 3 racing games to realise I dun rly like race games XD, except Mario Kart, cuz that's just pure awesomeness pressed on a disk)

Resident Evil 5 (waiting for someone to co-op it with)

Soul Calibur IV

The Orange Box

Wow, this list is longer than I thought... :S

So... when is Maffia II coming out??

I kind of have the same problem as you. For me, it's more that the story line is really long and I just get tired of playing it. For example, Dragon Age and Fallout. Both are great games, but I just get so overwhelmed with playing such a long game that I decide to put it down and pick up a new one.

Usually I leave games because I don't like them (anymore), but that rarely has to do with a specific part of the game. One I remember would be Tales of Symphonia (or however it's spelled), the bosses are way over the top overpowered and I got bored of the gameplay while powerleveling ^^

As far as my gaming habits go, I tend to always have a backlog. It is never too out of control though. I buy games in spurts unless it is a highly anticipated release in which I pre-order it and play it through as soon as I get it regadless of whatever I am playing at the time. That occurs only like three to four times per year though.

The rest of the time I buy 3-4 games at a time when they have hit the $20-$30 pile. When I get down to maybe one or two games left to play, I ususally buy some more. My definition of beating the game is going through the story and then picking up the trophies/achievments that are reasonable. I do not go out of my way for fetch quests or nonsense most of the time.

I have that same habit too. I find something hard in a game and try and try and try. Then I give up and come back later and beat it on first or second try. Also I have a habit of playing a game then moving onto another game before I finish the last. Then later (like months) I want to go back to that game and am pretty far and not very good and don't remember the story that well so I start all the way over.

Since I recently got the YLOD unsuspectingly I have lost all my game saves so now I will have to start over. But a bad habit of mine is purchasing a new game before I am finished playing the other games in my collection.
