I'm a sports gamer and looking to add a basketball game to the library for Christmas, Which should I get NBA Live 09 or NBA 2K9? Also any suggestions for any other high quality games out there.
2k9 for me personally. but if you always played live, then stick with it i guess...but i just feel like 2k9 isn't soo fast where its just guard dominated. plus computer controled players cut to the basket now...
I never played Live 09, but I heard it's an improvement for the franchise. 2K9 is alright, I have only played it multiplayer offline. It has pretty good graphics on the 360, but it has a lot of quirks that big me. The players kinda have some kind of "auto-pilot" or something where they don't always run where you want them to, and the artificial intelligence is pretty dumb at times. Overall, 2K9 is rated better, but they are probable both good.
I say go with 2k9... it has a more realistic feel to it when you get the hang of it.... You can not change directions on the dime or anything which I love plus the A.I. plays the passing lane so it is harder to get passes through people...
Now if you want a more arcade feel I would say go with Live...
since I play Basketball and love the sport I appreciate the realism that 2k9 puts in the game... I say try them both out and see which one is your cup of tea
2k9, hands down. It has a few flaws, but it is definitely the superior game. It is not easy so you should expect to lose a few games, but when you know what you need to do, it will be worth it.
