Batman: AC is one of my favorite games this gen. Tough to pick a favorite with Valkyria Chronicles, GoWIII, ACII, UC2, MGS4 and others being great games. The combat mechanics are fluid, great story and pacing with lots of attention to detail. Did I mention I'm only 11% done?

I beat Uncharted 3 this weekend before picking up Batman again (I was only 5% done). Different games I understand, but I don't think UC3 can touch Batman: AC.

Combat mechanics (hand-to-hand): Batman, wow. UC3 had some cool interactions with the envirmonment but it got repetitive.

Combat mechanics (other): Batman simply because of the volume of ways to take down a foe. UC3's aiming was odd.

Story: Batman.

Bosses: I haven't made it to a Batman boss fight yet, though I think I'm about to meet Penguin in the Museum. UC3 bosses were anticlimactic though. The final boss fight was a joke.

Platforming: Batman's evironment recognition is better IMO, but UC3 had some great platforming set pieces.

Replayability: Batman. I would much rather spend my time solving riddles than looking for treasure in UC3. I will eventually play Crushing once the patch comes out and multiplayer will be fun. But Batman had challenge maps, campaigns, DLC, etc.

If you were torn between the two, get Batman: AC just my opinion.

I havne't played Uncharted yet. I had a choice between Batman and uncharted because I was definately getting Skyrim. I chose Batman and even after beating it I don't regret it. The ending of Batman was so freaking awesome (imo). I'm getting Uncharted in December and I'm sure I will love but for now batman is just awesome :0

I didn't like Arkham Asylum, so I am content on skipping it.

I might pick it up someday, we'll see.

As of now, I have no plans of playing the game.

A lot of reviewers say that UC2 was so good that it set the bench mark too high. And that 2 years between games is not long enough to to make people hungry for a part 3 yet.

Personally, I'd probably agree with you, but I haven't played U3 yet. Based on Uncharted 2 though, Arkham City is many leagues better.

I seriously have trouble understanding the praise for Uncharted 2... I'm in my 20s and so are all my friends and all of them just kind of passively like it. They all agree it's nothing special and that it is an enjoyable little destraction and nothing more.

It's like comparing a 7/10 to a 10/10

You have a trouble understanding the praise for UC2 ? dude just because you didn't like it doesn't mean all the world has to do the same, go ask your friends why they like it and you'll understand, and really no one has to explain anything to you, you just gotta deal with people's opinions.

The thing is, all of my friends don't rave about it. It's just a simple little destraction for them as stated above. My confusion isn't about why someone can like it, but more about what in the world makes it a 9+ game? It does nothing spectacular from a gameplay perspective. Can all these flashy set pieces seriously make an otherwise run of the mill game better than everything else?

UC3 didnt impress me too much. I was expecting better. In fact, the single player so far has been less enjoyable than either Uncharted or Uncharted 2. Except for a couple of chapters in the middle, I feel like Im being funneled from one entrapped alleyway gunfight to the next with some cutscenes in between. Uncharted was similar in a lot of ways, but most of the fights were not as prolonged as in UC3. There seemed to be far more platforming in UC which was cool as well. Batman AC > UC3 although it does have its own quirks. It took me some time to get used to the combat. Other than that...great game.

How can you make a story judgement when you haven't even made it to a boss yet? I think the hand to hand combat was much better in batman. I like UC3s MP more than Batmans challenge maps. I like the UC3 story much better than the batman story.

Both excellent games I aren't gonna argue and if you like Arkham City more its your opinion but Uncharted 3 I felt was marginally better.

Uncharted 3 is better than the first Uncharted in every shape and form not just the middle chapters.

I prefer Uncharted 3 Drake's Deception. I've had a more enjoyable time with it than I did with Arkham City.

You can't really compare 2 games on the opposite ends of the action adventure spectrum. Personally I loved both games, but I thought Arkham City was better overall.

I've played a little of Uncharted 3 and really enjoyed it. I decided to wait on Batman because I find it hard to stay involved with most open-world games.

I have yet to try Batman: AC but I had Batman: Arkham Asylum and I thought it was good but I felt it was overrated. After I beat Arkham Asylum, I immediately sold it on ebay. For a comic game, I thought the boss battles were lame and the stages felt too dark, dingy and really repititive. This is why I thought Uncharted 2 was vastly better than Arkham Asylum. As for the Arkham City vs Uncharted 3 comparison, I haven't tried Arkham City but I hope they fixed those past issues.

Combat mechanics (hand-to-hand)? You are concentrating too much on hand to hand. You really can't compare Batman which is more of a brawler to Uncharted 3 which is more of a shooter. Batman isn't facing the gun fire that Nathan is facing. And Nathan isn't having the fist fights that Batman is having. Nathan is facing lot of gun fire while fighting. Is the brawling better on Batman? Yes but for obvious reasons. Nathan has to have some long fight movie scenes because if he isn't in fighting movie scene mode, he would be quickly killed by gun fire. I heard some people complain that fights are too long. Well if the fight was shorter, then people would just save their bullets and use 2 simple punches to knock out some fully armored bad guy with shotgun. The fully armored bad guy with the shotgun that takes like 30 bullets to kill shouldn't be knocked out with 2 punches. It would only make sense that he would have a long fist fight movie scene. As I said before, Uncharted is more about gun fire than hand to hand combat.

Combat mechanics (other)? Nathan has far more firepower to choose from and can take his opponent down many ways. I will take Nathan with a G-MAL rifle, Tau Sniper pistol and a couple grenades over Batman. Give me gunfire power over hand to hand combat anyday.

Arkham City was an incredible and epic game, but I'd still have to pick Uncharted 3. I have grown an attachment to the characters throughout the series, the dialogue and voice acting are some of the best in gaming today, and visually it's the best looking game available on consoles today. Not to mention the multiplayer is addicting and a blast to play.
