Batman:ac- new game plus + counter icons disabled= new game plus ****

i beat ac the other day, was really excited about the new game plus feature only to find out it was completely ruined by the fact that counter icons are disabled, which prettymuch makes it unplayable.. so much for the replay value, not to mention that now theres no reason to even bother with the costumes DLC, anyone else as pissed off about this as i am? why couldn't this sh!t be optional??? now i know there are gonna be a lot of people who are gonna post the *u suck* comments an all that but screw u this should have been optional, not forced upon us! have you ever noticed that whenever a game has a really cool idea they ALWAYS put one little annoying feature in there which completely destroys the idea all together??? why do games do this? i just don't understand why game companies nowadays can't seem to get anything right... :x

You'll be looking for the enemies to actually attack you to counter (which is very doable) rather than looking for a weird icon.

New game + should be renamed "Batman mode". Someone said it felt like a Batman simulator more than a game and I completely agree. I love the lack of icons and all the new little challenges. It's cool that enemies start off stronger and faster and I also noticed more mines and the like. Pretty cool I think.

It's really not that hard.. if you don't like it then play something else.

Honestly.. If you can't play the game without counter icons, you are bad at the game. It plays the exact same.. Just pay attention to the enemies. MethodManFTW

With the ridiculous amount of purchases over the past couple of weeks I've yet to finish Arkham but now can't wait to start NG+. Disabling counter prompts sounds awesome!

The point of NG+ is to be harder, hence the lack of the counter icon. Its not hard to fight without it, take the half hour to learn how to counter based on enemy animation. Sepewrath

It shouldn't be hard if he played Arkham Asylum. I played that game on Hard the FIRST time. No counter prompts. Treat it like a fighting game. Learn where in the animation the enemy hits. Also, remember that the Freeflow Combat System is all about finesse. It's tempting to want to button-mash, but single precise presses for striking, countering, and evading are all that's needed. Once you get back into the flow of combat, countering becomes second nature. When in doubt that your counter might be too far away or break a combo chain, evade. It's the same concept as knowing when to aim down the sights in an FPS or shoot from the hip or whether to reload or switch to your sidearm. It's one of those things that just takes time and practice.

okay, i'm gonna ask again since you didn't reply to my message, who are you and why are you giving away my psn like it's yours?

i don't know who this shangtsung17 guy is. i did play mk9 and i did use sindel but i don't play that game anymore. i also have never played Batman:AC. i thought it was an implied rule but i guess it's not as clear to others: don't play the identity theft game, even with psn gamertags. i think you can actually get in trouble with the network for impersonation.

by the way, thanks a lot for telling that guy to find me on mk9 because he did fight me and he was really annoying so i beat him and blocked him. whatever you said to him in this little argument must have made him mad because he did not care.

btw will a mod please lock this thread.. its like a year old and i ONLY play batman ac on new game plus now! once u get used to not having icons its the only way to play, i made several threads of how to keep new game plus without having to beat the normal game over an over as well.. LOCK THIS THREAD PLEASE.

Are you seriously complaining about the counter icons? The whole purpose of new game + is to be more challenging and last time I checked, playing without counter icons was more challenging. If you can't handle it then don't play the game. Simple

Do it so you don't have to go on Gamespot and whine about things no one cares about.

This is basically Arkham Asylum's Hard Mode but with the gadgets and all the upgrades. It's not that hard. The upgrades make it even easier. And if you're a good player, even average, you should be able to tell when they're about to attack. Sure it'd be hard at first, but practice. That's the whole point of being able to roam around and do whatever you want and fight thugs. Cause you can practice with those guys until you get better and then you procceed with the story missions. When I first played Asylum's Hard Mode, I had a hard time but I eventually got better. All you have to do is practice and pay attention to your enemies. The only problem I see is the Assassins. They can be kinda annoying sometimes cause I find it harder to counter them for some reason, they seem to be faster... Also, sometimes they'll attack once or sometimes they'll slash at you repeatedly so you don't really know but meh, practice.

LOL. I beat it twice on Hard mode. With and without the icons. I started right off the bat first time playthrough on hard. I learned the hard way. You just got to time it right. An enemy usually steps up then hits you--signalling an attack, which means you got to counter. Never get surrounded when you do thats when you counter then move jump away and use your takedown combo's as much as possible. It's a breeze. Once again let me re-emphasize: Never get surrounded/ Use your Takedown Combo when the meter fills up.

i also had some guy repost a guide i wrote for a mk9 character on another website without my permission xD he copied it word-for-word and even stole other info from guides that i found over the internet and wrote wrote them off as his own. i think i'm done with all this creepy online forum stuff ^.^
