Probaably the charger? USB charger? I've never heard of those. Try buying a new battery and charger.

Remove your battery from your PSP and then replace it, then try the USB charger again.

First, does the PSP power on with out it's battery but the charger pluged in? If it does it may just be the battery. But if it still doesn't power on, and only the green light powers on with the battery in, it may just be a bricked PSP(not fixable). I'd contact SCEA just in case, 1-800-345-7669... Best of luck!

I don't think the USB charger provides enough power to turn on the system. i know it charges the battery slower then the normal power adapter. Does the light go amber when you plugin the charger? I would get a real power adaptor for your PSP.

If nothing turns on, not even with the charger on it may just be a dead PSP. If you want, you can go buy a new charger for the PSP, because it may be the system, otherwise contact Sony, (1-800-345-7669)...

You don't know how old it is but you know it was barely used and your uncle got it "from a guy who gets them cheap" and you are surprised it's not working?

Settle down little kid. Just go get an official Sony charger from  EB games, if that doesn't work then call Sony or try replacing your battery with a different one you know works.

The guy your uncle got it from could've hacked it, and when he got a firmware update, the firmware detected the hacks, thus bricking the PSP.  Contact Sony, and tell them your problem.  They should send you a new/refurbished one for free, or a reduced price.  Bumping this topic won't fix your PSP, though.

DUDE as i said before the USB chargers are a POS so until you have a real charger to try it out who knows. Don't you have any friends with PSP's? go to their PSP and try their battery and charger with your unit...

if you're using a usb charger you have to use a powered usb port, which would have to be one on the back of your pc. i had the same problem charging my mp3 player.

Either your PSP is faulty of it needs a new battery. The only way that you are going to find out is by getting a new battery. If that doesn't work try buying a normal/proper charger. Or you could just get it checked out by Sony. But moaning is not going to get you any where I am afraid.

Bumping this topic won't fix your PSP, though.

Don't be an lamo man. If the kid needs to bump his topic of decent advice. BUMP AWAY.
