I know I am a bit late on this but I just wanted to point out to the uninformed just how exceptional this game is. It may have a limited feature set but for $14.99 you get quite a bit of bang for your buck and considering it's solely multiplayer the replayability is high and there is a simple progression system that keeps your rank. There are only three land maps and one aerial map but the maps are all of impressive scale and proportion. The action is never dull aside from the few moments you have to spend running from one side of the island to the other (usually short-way, not long way... you'll die easy that way) but other than trying to hitch a ride from someone when they're leaving you in the dust the game really offers non-stop excitement. The FrostBite Engine really does a good job of representing the calamity of a warzone and the smoke/particle effects are virtually second to none. There are a few glitches here and there (must I remind you, $14.99) but for anyone looking for a solid online FPS for their PS3... look no further.

It's a good "pick up and play" time killer or "break game".

I love it. I've got 55+ hours logged, definitely worth the $14.99.

Last time I played I went 43 kills - 5 deaths over 2 matches. Felt good.

Yeah for the price tag you cant really beat what you get out of it. Im a huge fan of the BF series and this was a nice addition and a great buy for someone who maybe is new to the series and wants to try it out.

I downloaded the demo of this because I love the battlefield system, but I recently picked up Battlefield: Bad Company because it was only 20 bucks brand new. How do these two games compare in terms of online play (from those of you that have played or play both) and should I consider getting 1943?

I don't have the full game but I played the demo for Bad Company and I have to say, the controls are much improved in 1943. Faster, more precise, and you don't have to hold down L3 to run.

I actually bought it yesterday and it is in fact an amazing game. I've owned CoD4 4 times (with my first ps3, when that died i got it on xbox, then when that died of course i bought another ps3, then my 3rd copy of cod4 snapped, so i picked up a 4th, and it was stolen) so im not buying Cod4 anymore, im just waiting for codmw2, but this game is up there with its status and im so glad i bought. I personally love how I can excell at sniping when in the right situation, or be great with the assault rifle. Great game 9/10

I have a ton of hours in 1943 and BC but 1943 can be a blast once you learn to really control the planes. I try to grab one on every game first thing because it's the fastest way to get accross the maps and once you get the controls down really good it can be fun getting road kills at top speed on people in the high spots snipping. I had a friend send me message that it was bad enough I got him with a plane but man it was really bad when he was got with a road kill with a plane.
