The PS3 version is pretty much broken with too many glitches, lag and screen tearing. If they could fix 95% of the problems, than it would be close too perfect, but for now I can hardly play with out lagging out of the game . Right now the game before my eyes is like the colors of the rainbow with all the screen tearing, it's awful. It's like we're back to the old days of NES and SD t.v's from the 80's. If the game is glitched, it distorts the t.v screen with all sorts of colors.

The lag and niput delay are very real things. I haven't experienced the screen tearing though.

For my game at least I'm having those problems. Maybe my game is just defective?

Yea, you should return it for another copy. I have been playing the multiplayer for awhile now and haven't experienced any of the problems you stated. You make it sound unplayable.

Are you really talking about BF3? It runs much better than BC2 and online works well mostly. Yeah few disconnects here and there but thats to be expected in first week or two.

For me BFBC2 had very few problems. One example in BF3 is a green stripe appears on the right side of my screen anytime I turned left or right.

this is my first bf game ever, although i did buy bf:bc 2 4months ago then sold it to get bf3, and honestly i love the game, its one of my top shooters this gen. now what bothers me is some of u lie about not experiencing anything lol, everybody is experiencing most of what the tc is saying thats a fact ( check their web page ), but they will fix im sure of it. use of mic is almost unbearable, it barely works, the lag thing is not every game but most of the games u get into specially the BIG maps theres a lil lag here and there, although there are games where it runs smoothly. the screen tearing well i havent notice that dont know but again im sure there will be a fix, i wouldnt call it back to NES or sdtv but its still somewhat playable. so if they fix the mic issues, some lag problems, and my main issue with it is when u invite friends in ur squad/party then try to find a game it always splits us apart, either some go to opposite side of the team or different squads, that also needs fixing, other than that the game is awesome.

Teh lies? I have experienced some freezing up online and some engine glitches that are to be expected. Maybe you just have faulty copy. I have 10 hours into the MP and about four into single player.

BFBC2 used to have black streaks and tearing periodically for me. DICE has definitely yet to put out a polished PS3 product for sure. As for the online, its better than BFBC2, but that's honestly not saying much IMO. I'm an old PC BF vet, and didn't care for BC2 at all. BF3 is a step in the right direction, but too many small infantry only/vehicle limited maps. Especially if your only going to launch 9 total. The DLC will help this game tremendously as all four Back to Karkand maps are legit Battlefield maps from BF2.

Just because BF3 is a glitchy nightmare doesn't mean he's a COD fanboy.. i hate COD, its the epitome of terrible, but Battlefield 3 is a buggy mess.. Lag, screen tearing, input delay, faulty class saving, random deaths, and rubber banding like crazy! Dice sucks at beta testing..

Hmm. didnt have any of the screen tearing thing.

Minor lag, but not too much to complain about..

The only issues that concern me as a player is squads getting seprated before entering the game and Mics breaking up.

Other than that, the game functions greatly.

Played online many times since release and I haven't had any real problems with the game.

A little big of lag once on Kharg Island and that's about it.

For me pretty much every game is running smoothly only a few odd games here and there which have had slight lag but nothing too serious, multiplayer is greta and am loving every minute playing it.

I've put in almost 5 hours online with BF3. I've definitely seen some slight screen tearing but nothing that you'd notice if you aren't looking for it. I've also been "rewound" as far as 2 seconds in time during a game. I've been dropped out of 1 match out of 40. I have not seen any green bars on my screen or anything like that. I have had some times where it took quite a few tries before it would actually put me in a match. There are times when I feel like there is input lag but am unsure if this is a "weight" to the player or not.

Did you install the game to your hard drive as recommended by DICE? Anyways, I have the 360 version and haven't experienced any screen tearing and the graphics look amazing. Lag is often noticeable though. Sometimes I will run behind cover, then teleport 10 feet backwards and get shot and die.

I don't think the PS3 version got the high-res texture install.. at least i haven't seen anything like it yet.

It just automatically installs... It's only optional on 360 because not every console has a hard drive..

I have 15 hours in the multiplayer, and have not been lagging on a 3mg connection shared with my partners xbox. perhaps the server issues are not a problem in the UK, Ive had some funny colour flashes on screen, but no lag that i can detect.

Picked it up today and can't wait to jump online but I always play through the campaign beforehand.

Off topic (sorta): Anyone else find the campaign to be borderline pathetic? I've been an FPS aficionado for several generations but I'm really not 'feeling' Battlefield 3. IMO, it's easily the worst Battlefield campaign to date. I'm currently playing on hard and there've been engagements where I can take cover, go to the kitchen to grab a drink, come back and the squad's done the deed. Also, lining up headshots on someone that can't be shot due to a pending scripted event really hits home. I'm really surprised the game scored so high considering how weak (and apparently short) the campaign truly is.
