Alright I signed it.
It really is stupid that you have to pay for the weapons. I really hope that feature is not on the full game - or I won't buy it.
if you guys go to wikipedia it tells you that the weapons cost money in the beta, but in the retail game they will be free.. no need for the petitionWMDfreeman99
If you believe wikipedia that is...

Not true!
EA will make a Gold Edition in wich all weapons will be included but it will be more expensive than the regular edition....basicaly you pay for the guns. (no one knows how much the gold edition will be)
Than for the regular edition you can later on buy the guns. But how much will they be???If NFS pro-street is any indication where they sold $2.99/car than it's safe to asume that they will charge $2.99/gun.
They just trying to make it look good with the Gold Edition.

Well I guess it depends how much it will really be then. If the Gold edition is like normal price and the regular is less then it wouldn't be bad.
But as you said it should just be the regular edition has everything.

Oh but the regular edition will be $59.99 basicaly $65 after taxes. So the Gold Edition will be more expensive.
Things like this never work. The only thing that would work if nobody bought the gold edition and nobody bought the extra guns. Lets look at it from their standpoint. Kids these days are stupid enough to pay for extra things like weapons. Why shouldn't they charge if people are dumb enough to pay for it? I know if I was part of a business and I knew people were that dumb I would take full advantage of it. Devourment423
I don't think that you can call weapons extras in a FPS game!!!:D
It's like calling cars as extras in a racing game.

What is?
Sorry I just went to Planet Battlefield. http://planetbattlefield.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Gameinfo.Detail&id=262&game=9
You guys have got it all wrong. You don't NEED to pay for the weapons. This is just if you want them right away.
It says: - Item locked. Ranking up will earn you unlock credits.
Which means that the item can be unlocked once you rank up - then use your credits from the game to get the weapon. There is also the option to purchase the weapons. The Gold Edition gives you some of the Unlockable weapons right off the bat so you do not need to rank up to unlock them.
It is much like COD4, but instead they give you the option to buy the weapons so they are always unlocked.
My point is further proved because although this is for the 360 version - this icon appears beside weapons you can buy on the marketplace. - Available for purchase on Xbox Live Marketplace
However that icon is NOT beside all the locked weapons - which means that you can only get those weapons through ranking up. Do not sign this petition - the WEAPONS CAN BE UNLOCKED WITHOUT PAYING MONEY!

You are defenting the wrong people!!! Read this
Here they explain that there will be a Gold Edition which is not priced yet...that will include all the weapons. And a standard editon for $59.99 and if you get that you can buy the extra weapons later on...either way...you will have to pay extra $ to get the full experience!!
And don't tell me that they make no difference...a damn RPG makes a hell of a lot of difference!!
I made a really lengthy post about how you're all wrong and you're blowing it out of proportion ('cept that dude with a yellow car in his avatar).
But it hand invalid HTML or something despite it not. So yeah, you're all wrong and you'll just have to imagine that there are reems and reems of evidence proving that just below this.moshakirby
Yeah the guy with the yellow car.
I gave my proof which shows that you unlock credits to buy the weapons - but you can buy them with real money if you are impatient and don't feel like unlocking credits.
The proof is all in my other post. Thanks for backing me up - I am almost 100% sure that I am right.

Im inclined to believe this. If Bad Company is anything like Battlefield 2 on the PC, then the ranks are not that easy to come by. In Battlefield 2, there was a large experience point difference between ranks. It could really take months to unlock all the weapons. If that is the same for Bad Company, then i can see why they will let you pay to unlock weapons if you want. BTW, the unlocked weapons typically made a huge difference in gameplay. They were usually more powerful or more accurate as you would expect an unlock to be.[QUOTE="LtColJaxson"][QUOTE="moshakirby"]I made a really lengthy post about how you're all wrong and you're blowing it out of proportion ('cept that dude with a yellow car in his avatar).

Maybe....but regardless they are being unfair!
Seems like they are just doing what they did with Need For Speed. You buy the $70 collector's edition and get extra cars and tracks. If you bought the $60 version, you can pay $10 for the same content through DLC. I bought the $60 version and just didn't buy the DLC.
I'm sure Bad Company comes with 50 different weapons. Who cares about a couple more. I know games like Call of Duty or Rainbow Six have a billion different weapons and I usually only use 3-4.

If you believe wikipedia that is...
Yea, wikipedia is junk. Keep in mind I falsely edit wikipedia articles in my free time...
If people would stop buying games with these added prices for items then companies would stop doing that bullsh*t. Don't buy Battlefield Bad Company and all the money that they spent making that game would be a lost for them. Already spending $65 for these games and for these companies to add $ for items are ridiculous.
