Best 1080p Graphics?

Soul Calibur 4 plays in 720p, but it is a graphical showcase, and probably the best I've seen on the PS3 so far. Keep in mind that is one of the few games that was designed for the PS3, and ported to the other system while in development. Usually it's the other way around...

As for 1080p, I would have to go with Wipeout HD or Gran Turismo 5 as well. As much as I want to give it to MGS4, there were parts of the gameplay that could have been polished a little better, although I still give it game of the year for being just about perfect.

Hands down MGS4.. and don't give me that crap about not supporting 1080p!

MG4 is a candidate for this year's graphics technical award at this website (and others). IMO, this game should win it.

I have a pretty strong pc rig with Q6600 @ 3.0, 8800GTX, 2 gigs ddr2800 ram @ 4-4-12, Windows XP lite using minimal resources (idols around 150mb ram) using DX10 tweaks for Crysis, and a Sony 24" FW900 crt. I've beat Crysis several times now at 1920x1200 resolution. MG4 come ever so close, and at times rivals the almighty Crysis.

Of course, all my opinion.

WipEout HD.

I'm think it's the only full 1080p 60 FPS game on the PS3 right now.

Well, other than CoD4, but when you play online it goes down to 30 FPS.

ANyway, WipEout's freaking beautiful to look at.

Especially Zone...

Games do look great on the PS3, however, the majority are not even in 1080p.

Even WipeoutHD, with a name like that you would expect Full HD.

The more complex games are rated to run at 720p, but in fact run even lower that that!

So I guess the best 1080p graphics would be one of the few games which is actually in 1080p, which are:

Official release might be 720p, certainly not 1080p.

But at any rate, MGS4 is the best 1080p game. Don't care what the technical side of it is, my TV says its running 1080p, the box says 1080p, and it darn sure looks 1080p. So I'll go with that.

FFXIII and Gran Turismo 5 are sick looking.

Even though MGS4 has some of the most sick graphics this gen, my vote goes to FFXIII. Even though this game didn't impress me gameplay-wise, I must say it's got amazing graphics. All these colors and detail are stunning.
