Best Buy is "price-matching" Wal-mart's $100 free gift card deal on PS

So if you bought a 80GB PS3 today or plan to this week, remember to speak up and ask for the price-match. Best Buy employees are not allowed to tell you out of the goodness of their heart. This comes straight from corporate. We are not allowed to tell you that we are doing the price-match, but we are supposed to honor the deal.

My Best Buy store in Ocoee, FL got 24 of the 80GB PS3s. They completely sold out within 5 hours of opening the doors.

The deal is only for this week. :(

The Best Buy near my house had 28 and they were handing out vouchers. Store opened at ten and luckily for my friend who bought one, we were 28th in line at 9:55. HaHa. Anyway, what if he already purchased it? Would he be able to go back and ask for the price match? Usually you have 30 days to do the price match right?ChiefCQ15

If there are Wal-Marts in Canada I would have to assume the deal is in Canada as well. However you should call your local Wal-Mart to confirm the deal.

Typically any deal in the USA is the same in Canada.

Typically that is the case in price-matching at any Best Buy store. However every Best Buy store should be aware of the Wal-Mart deal.

The information was given to all Best Buy employees, especially managers. They are well aware of the deal with Wal-Mart.

Every week we're given a heads up on our Employee News site on the Best Buy Toolkit. Managers discuss everything well before the ads are even released.

If you want a confirmation I suggest going there in person. Calling does not always work, unless you talk to someone who has intelligence.

yep this happened to me and all i did was take my reciept into best buy and they handed me a 100 dollar gift card =)
