I haven't purchased a game based on it's cover/description since the PS1 days. :Praven_squadC'mon what about the cheap bargains.
I never buy games without doing research, so I wouldn't know about stuff like this. I guess the worst game I've played with awesome box art would be....I don't know.
yeah tc, i have a wal mart and kmart that are right across the street from one another. so theyre always competing. i got Dark Sector for ten dollars at wal mart and NBA Street Homecourt for seven dollars! at kmart. (mind you this was over a year ago) Darke Sector is a fun game with great use of the sixaxis. The Street game was not the best in their series...by far. i also bought the Simpsons game on impulse cuz it was only ten dollars. another great game bought solely for its pretty pictures and friendly price tag.
Haven't done it since the PS2 days, myself. And it was less the box art, and more the name on the box, Square Enix, the game being Unlimited Saga. I knew nothing of the game, saw Square Enix and figured I couldn't go wrong, and I ended up returning it the same night. The only Squaresoft/Square EA/Square Enix game I've ever disliked.
Daxter for PSP and Burnout Paradise for PS3
They were both good games but I don't have either of them now.
I would say Killzone 2... really the worst game I have ever played... or Assassin's Creed 1, sooooo boooooring...
I never buy games based on cover alone, I always look into it at least a bit before buying it.
However I do remember one time back in the N64 days I went in looking for a game to rent, I was obsessed with racing games at the time, and I guess I never even read the backs of the cases I looked at... (I was only like, probably 5 at the time) I saw a game with just a car on the cover, so I thought, "cool a racing game." Turned out to be a first person shooter. That was kinda dissapointing, lol....
Idon't rememberwhat the game was called, nor do I remember anything about it.

Me neither. The last time I did that was when I bought Forsaken for PS1, and I learned my lesson.
