Hmmm...I'd go with Soul Calibur IV. It is a good game, probably the best fighting game you can buy for the PS 3 right now, but it isn't that good. It's the best, because there is no real competition.
For me, Soul Calibur IV, but only because there really aren't many other fighting games on PS3, or this gen in particular. Virtua Fighter 5 is an obvious contender. The reason I don't just go out and recommend it though is that it is, unfortunately, perhaps the most inaccessible fighter on the market. It's very difficult to get a complete grasp of and the learning curve is basically a vertical wall. It's not a bad game, in fact, it's a very good one and I've owned it since it came out - I'm just not fast to recommend it. To those that mentioned Street Fighter II HD Remix...that's not out yet is it?
SSF2 TURBO HD REMIX!!! is the best ever i just got through beating it and im speechless made me feel like 1992 all over again sent shivers down my spine!! i gotta on right now and its playing the ken stage remix song on the main menu and its so badass!!! so its ssf2 turbo hd remix then tekken 5 dr and then sc4!!!
MUST OWN!!! Tekken 5 DR...its a great fighting game with pretty good online. Street Fighter Super deluxe hyper max alpha....does it matter which it it is?? they're all good.(except for that old 3D one)
At the moment, I'm going to have to say Virtua Fighter 5. I can't quite weigh in on Super Turbo HD Remix yet considering I've yet to actually get an online match started; keep getting disconnected just as the match starts.
