Best Final Fantasy game?

I recently purchased a PS3 with god of war trilogy, and since my birthday is around the corner I thought I would ask my gf to get me a game or two. I was thinking Metal Gear Solid 4 and perhaps one of the final fantasy games. I have already played 7 and the old Nes/Snes ones, so out of the others which would you say is the best? I have 13 on the 360. Unless of course, there is some other PS3 exclusive title that would be better than a Final Fantasy. Say perhaps a Ratchet and Clank? Resistance the Fall of Man? Uncharted? Demon's Souls? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated for this newbie PS3 owner.

Final Fantasy 8 is my favorite FF ever.

Final Fantasy 10. You won't be dissapointed. It is the best one out of the ones you haven't played yet by far.

PLEASEEEE DO YOUR SELF A FAVOR AND BUY UNCHARTED 2, you and so many others are missing out from one of the greatest games of all time. Just Do It....like Tiger Woods.

I think Final Fantast Tactics, FFXI,FFVI, FFVIII,FFXI are the best FF titles.

All of them except a few.

IX, my first real rpg and an amazing one at that, hands down.

Since I've only beaten FFX I think it's the best.

Final Fantasy X is definitely the best of the numbered ones, but overall THE best is Final Fantasy Tactics (the PSP version is the superior of the two by the way). it's so good!

I loved 7 so much, but now I am really loving 12, story wise it has a better plot then 13.

My favorite is 7, but out of the ones you haven't played I definitely recommend 9. 7,8, and 9 will always be the best in my opinion. Lucky for you 9 will be on PSN soon so you can play them all! XII has the best battle system and no random battles. Just a weak story, but that really does not bother me.

Final Fantasy IX is still my favourite FF game along with FFVII

8, 10, 12 are all pretty amazing experiences.

13 is pretty good as well (just finished it not 30 minutes ago) :)

Final Fantasy vi easily.
